Huacachina Sandboard

Very cool experience!! We had a start time of 3pm and got there at 2:50. However, the tour didn’t start till 4:30. We were a bit annoyed by that because we had just flown in that day from the states and drove 4.5 hours from Lima to get here. We were exhausted and wanted to lay in our hotel room for a little longer before going to this. But we got there and had to wait around for 90+ mins. Once out - the guys were amazing and so accommodating to all of us. The buggy car ride was so so fun through the dunes! They taught us to sand board and also took videos of us going down. Lots of very cool pretty shots! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Definitely do it if You’re hesitant. You could also body board down if you can’t ski or snowboard. That’s fun too! My only recommendation is to call the shop and verify the departure time to walk to the sand dunes so you’re not sitting around wasting 90 mins of vacation time.

Was able to get out to Huacachina and it did not disappoint at all - largely in part to the great quality of help we had from SandSnow School. They had great equipment. Had the right connections and made it easy for us to get onto the dunes. And they took us to all their favorite spots. Additionally they even helped us plan out our travel from Lima to Huacachina. If you want a real good experience out on the dunes these guys will set you up for success. Highly recommend them if you are just starting out and I especially recommend them if you already have a decent grasp of snowboarding/skiing. They will ensure you have the best time possible.

Excellent choice for someone new to sand boarding. I had zero experience and Alexandre was super patient and help me get on the board and go down dunes I never thought in a million years I would! Ohhhh and the sunset.. 🌅 Super recommend! 👌🏻

Rad time. The guides were super helpful and accomodating to our skill levels, made a couple of amateurs feel like pros. Driving around the dunes was wild without feeling unsafe and they took sick photos of the whole experience. 10/10 would recommend, best tour in Huacachina.

Very good experience, if you go in the afternoon, wear jacket or jacket because it is cold, there are lockers to leave things but you must wear padlock if you want to ensure it

I would 100% recommend going back. Don’t let anyone’s age fool you, they’re a great group of couple, very considerate of all skill levels, and push you to try new things. We had one friend on skis, and two on boards. We also had some pretty wild rides between the dunes which were a great way to break up the boarding which is pretty tiring btw. We’d also strongly recommend doing at least one boogie boarding experience which can be pretty jarring as we took off from the highest peak.

I was a bit hesitant to pay the price, which is significantly higher than other travel agencies in huacachina, but it was definitely worth it! We were a group of 4 people, and got 2 very professional guides- jair and sergio (sorry if i misspelled the names) that helped us choose the right equipment for us and check thats its good, and it definitely was. After a short explanation and trial about how sandboarding is different than snowboarding we headed out for a full 3 hour experience that included 5 challenging slopes and a great buggy ride in between. It was amazingly fun, plus we got to see a beautiful sunset and the guys provided us with gopro footage of our surf. This is an experience meant for the more experienced surfers, even though one of the guys in our group was boarding for the first time ever and received very good and patient lessons from jair, and he managed to do pretty good towards the end! Every aspect of this experience was very professional and very personal, well worth the price.

This is a once in a lifetime kind of experience. The staff was professional and patient, and the dunebuggy driver was crazy! It was all perfect.
