Our 5-day Horsetrek was an unforgettable experience! Our guide Jashtyk and horseman Marlen are truly wonderful people who put so much effort into making sure we had an amazing time. Everything was perfectly taken care of, and we never felt like anything was missing. Riding through the stunning Alay Mountains, experiencing the nomadic way of life and spending time with such warm and welcoming people made this trip incredibly special. Thank you very much!!! 🧡
The 5 day horse trek into the Alay mountains was truly amazing. The horses are very well educated and since you get assigned your own horse for the trip, you really get to know the character of your horse and built a friendship with him. Jashtyk as our guide and Marlen as our horsemen took very good care of us and made sure we were feeling fine, got everything we needed and having a great time. They also involved in conversation with the group so we go to know so much details about Kyrgyz culture (and even learned a Kyrgyz card game). The host families were so friendly and offered warm welcomes and very nice traditional food (also for vegetarians). Beside from having so much fun with our group, the Mountain views were stunning and we even got to dip into a cold mountain river. Highlight was crossing the pass on the fourth day, the view was breathtaking. Altogether this was a great experience and I would highly recommend it! Would love to come back one day…
We were two guys on the trip and had an unforgettable time. The nature and horse riding were incredible, but the highlight was our guide, Tashi, who became a real friend and happily answered any question we threw at him. The yurt camp stays were a treat where we were taught local games and served delicious food. The group atmosphere was friendly from day one and we made lifelong friends along the way. A fantastic experience I'd recommend to anyone.
Absolutely amazing experience, 5 days of horse riding staying in yurts camps in the mountains, so well fed and looked after. Justyk was such an amazing guide, answering all our questions. He has such a great way about him, also the horsemen, Bek and Maryln. We had such great fun in the group from playing cards to volley ball in the local villages. Everyone was so friendly, truly amazing experience.
We had a great time, the scenery was amazing and the tour perfectly organized. The days went by so quickly because we had an amazing group constellation and so much fun together, also especially with our guide Tashi, the horsemen and our hosts. We played local games and cards, danced, ate local food and did some hikes. Really recommend!
The whole experience was great from start to end. My friend got sick the night before the trip and the tour operator was very helpful and flexible, allowing us to join the trip the next day. The guides were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The main guide, Jashtyk, spoke english and helped with translation with the local yurt hosts. Despite not having much horse riding experience, I always felt safe with the horses. The guides would allow us to go faster whenever it was safe and everyone was comfortable with it. The guides also took good care of the horses. We stayed at yurts that are operated by local families and everyone was so kind and welcoming. Overall it was a dream come true and I already look forward to doing other trips with Visit Alay!
Went with my friend and the trip was worth every penny. The guides were very pleasant, helpful and accomodating. You don't need any prior riding experience either so dont be hesitant book if you are not accostumed to horse riding.
It was an amazing horse trek, 10/10. Jashtyk and co. did a great job. I can really recommend the Truly Nomadic Horse Trek. The horses were also responsive, healthy, and fun to ride.
Fantastic experience where we horse trekked through varied environments. Truly a zero to hero experience for me riding a horse. I’ll be back for the song kul and advanced Alay mountain adventures! Thank you so much to Jashtyk and his crew for there patience and expertise!
I completed the 5 day horse trek on 15th July. My daughters and I truly enjoyed to company of our fellow adventurers who can from Türkiye, Austria, our fellow Australians and of course our Kyrgish guides led by the effervescent Tashi. (Even if he wasn’t the best wrestler. :) ) The Visit Alay team have put together a wonderful itinerary, where you stay with real families in their Yurts that they make available for travellers. We learnt much about the history and culture of this land as well, as one of our fellow tourists said, “ everywhere you look you see a wonderful sight”. The nature, the people, the fellow tourists and together understanding the tradition of this rich land (in happiness). Do not attempt this trip if you are a complete beginner. But if you have an adventurous spirit and at least some horse riding experience- you will have a wonderful time. Being a bit older, I took a secret weapon and had mountain bike undershorts (with that extra padding compared to normal bike shorts). It made a huge difference (I rode one day without them just to see.) Congratulations Visit Alay. We all had a magnificent time.
