Captain Stephen is the best! Thank you for giving us the best memories. We’ll never forget them!
The show is much less than expected
Great food, friendly staff! Enjoyed the show and a beautiful sunset! Had some great family photos taken by the photographer.
This was our inaugural visit to Hawaii. Had to play tourists and see as much as we could from different angles in the short period of time we were there. We flew into Maui but then went to the other Island where Honolulu is and we spent our time there. My wife arranged a sunset cruise on the Star of Honolulu specifically to honor my daughter's graduation and birthday. Payment was done in advance. On arrival we had a small Hawaiian dancer show in the parking lot prior to embarking. Nice added touch. Once on board, we were assigned seats and everyone was given a complimentary Mai Tai. Cocktails and soda were extra. Water was free but you had to serve yourself. A Hawaiian musician played the piano and sang. Dinner was served buffet style. Choices of fish, BBQ chicken and sliced roast beef along with various salads and rolls that were purple in color-Poi rolls. Desserts included a coconut cake, various fruit , macadamia nut brownie and more. Coffee and tea were included. The boat ride itself was basically out, down the shore and back. You could clearly see Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. Inside there was more entertainment with some Hawaiian dancing and eventually a Congo line. I thought there would be more emphasis on the sunset but there wasn't -you had to just go out there and watch. The ship has two floors with food service on each. The views were beautiful but limited to just the South shore of the island. The night we went there were some small waves. Being a boat owner it wasn't a big deal; however, I did hear some commenting about the rocking. At the end we debarked by table. Tipping was done with cash. I was not impressed with the meat- it was chewy and hard to cut. I had to go through the line and come back as there were no rolls. They did not appear to have enough servers to help. I'm not sure if there were separate deck dinner lines. I was on deck 1. Overall it was around two hours. It is a once in a lifetime thing. I would repeat if it was free. Overall I felt it was a bit pricey but then again everything in Hawaii is.
The food, entertainment and views were all very good. I specifically booked the Friday night sailing for the fireworks show.
The ship was clean and the food was good. Crew was very friendly and fun. The view was Awesome!! Some rocking from the waves but nothing serious, it was a good time!
This was the highlight of our Hawaii trip. We booked the Friday cruise and no regrets, it was the best! You will see the fireworks from the distance/sea and it was a beautiful experience. The food were great with overloaded coffee and pastries! The staff were amazing, all of them! Truly, thank u for the lovely experience. We will surely do this again. Mahalo!
This dinner cruise was a wonderfully enjoyable experience to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday! The crew was friendly, the entertainment was awesome, and the food was delicious!
We had such a wonderful time. He took lots of photos for us, and the food was delicious. Even though we talked about places in Japan that aren’t very well known, he joined in the conversation and made it so much fun. fun!Stephan!
