The tour included a visit to a wet market, with some remarks by the guide, transportation to the basket boat location, the basket boat ride, and a cooking "class." The cooking class is more of a shared cooking participation--not a lot of learning or teaching, more like "mix these things together and then do this to finish." With 9 people in the group (we didn't know there would be so many others) it's probably all that could be done--not much time for teaching. Our guide was friendly. The cooking class teacher was...businesslike and focused. Lots of food, but the quality seemed a bit below what we'd had in local restaurants in Da Nang. The transportation was a on the edge of uncomfortable (hot, 10 people in a van). The cooking class was in a large covered "patio" type area with fans for cooling. The heat is to be expected, I suppose, but might be less comfortable for those used to air conditioning. Overall, we weren't disappointed.
Thank you for your review. We also try to make you happy. But I hope you sympathize because the hot weather because this is summer, the temperature is very hot, making you uncomfortable and you probably said you are used to cold temperatures, so when you experience the outdoor tour, you feel uncomfortable and hot. But that is not our fault, it is the weather. We picked you up with a group of only 9 people, but we used a 16-seat car to pick you up, but you felt uncomfortable when moving about 3 km. We think it is unfair to us because the summer weather is hot everywhere, so I hope you reconsider your review. Thank you very much and the best wishes to you
We’ve spent a few weeks in Vietnam so far and this is one of the highlights of our trip! The experience and food were fantastic and the guides were all so kind and friendly.
Lovely authentic local family ran our cooking class with clear instructions and help at every turn! 4 courses with food in abundance. We even took some back to our hotel for dinner!!! Would recommend!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We cooked 4 dishes that were delicious. They also cooked up a dish from the food we bought at the market. Dont have a big breakfast, as we left VERY full.
It pleasantly turned out be quite a "private" tour because there were only four of us for the entire session. The van picked up us right from our hotel, and the English speaking tour guide brought us to the local market to see what they were selling. After that, we headed to the village, where we took the basket boat (looked like half a coconut), and experienced fishing and crabbing. The guy who paddle our boat was really enthusiastic! Through minimal English, we were still able to understand one another. He even marked his own palm tree spot and took the best photos of us! We couldn't help but laughed and admired his professionalism. The boat ride was about an hour long (I think), before we headed back to shore for the cooking class. The chef was the wife of the tour guide, and she's been teaching cooking for the past 8 years! Kudos to her, we survived and made a total of four dishes, including the fried spring roll, pancakes, seafood noodles and a salad. They were so delish, but we were so full by the second dish. LOL It was really a good experience learning how to make local dishes in a foreign country. I've enjoyed it and I hope tourists will also give it a shot to take in this wonderful experience too!
The tour was amazing with Long and chef Duyen. The basket boat ride was the highlight, we caught live fish and a tiny crab from the river. Well worth it!
We had a very nice afternoon, everybody was very very friendly! We enjoyed the food. It was very good and big portions.
Great morning spent with our guide and his family. We started with the local market where he took the time to explain the main ingredients of Vietnamese cuisine, then we went to the coconut village for a bamboo boat ride and catch crab and fish. Then the class started. Our instructor was very friendly and the dishes delicious and hearty! I recommend 100%. Welcoming was amazing.
Excellent meal, great time spent with Long's family, very friendly, very good product, sharing their Vietnamese cuisine. Everything was excellent thank you again. We highly recommend without hesitation.
Great experience, half a day with Long & our cooking teacher Duyen. We begin our day in the market, after that to a fishing village, fishing and navigating in a very special boat, at least a great meal that we cook with the help of Duyen our incredible teacher and Long that help us bring great plates ! A enjoying experience , authentic with great people, recomendable 100% !!
