Der Unabhängigkeitspalast war die Basis des vietnamesischen Generals Ngo Dinh Diem bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 1963. Er machte sich 1975 einen Namen in der Weltgeschichte. Der Unabhängigkeitspalast war das Zuhause und der Arbeitsplatz des französischen Gouverneurs von Cochin-China. Es verfügt über üppige Gärten, Geheimräume, antike Möbel und einen Kommandobunker. Die Kathedrale Saigon Notre Dame, die Ende der 1880er Jahre von französischen Kolonisten erbaut wurde, ist eine der wenigen erhaltenen Hochburgen des Katholizismus im weitgehend buddhistischen Vietnam. Das Hauptpostamt in Ho Chi Minh ist ein wunderschön erhaltenes Überbleibsel der französischen Kolonialzeit und vielleicht das größte Postamt in ganz Südostasien. Neben der Kathedrale Notre Dame gelegen, können die beiden kulturellen Stätten gemeinsam besichtigt werden und bieten Besuchern die Möglichkeit, sich das Leben in Vietnam während der Zeit des Indochina-Reiches vorzustellen. Das Gebäude wurde von Alfred Foulhoux entworfen und verfügt über gewölbte Fenster und Fensterläden aus Holz, so wie es zu seiner Blütezeit im späten 19. Jahrhundert war.
Das War Remnants Museum in Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt wurde 1975 erstmals der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Es war einst als „Museum of American War Crimes“ bekannt und erinnert schockierend an den langen und brutalen Vietnamkrieg. Es werden grafische Fotografien und amerikanische Militärausrüstung gezeigt. Es gibt einen Hubschrauber mit Raketenwerfern, einen Panzer, ein Kampfflugzeug und ein einsitziges Kampfflugzeug. Das Cholon von Ho Chi Minh City ist Vietnams größte Chinatown mit Wurzeln aus dem Jahr 1778. Es ist auch ein Ort von großer historischer und kultureller Bedeutung. Chinesische Minderheiten versteckten sich hier vor dem Tay Son und mussten das Gebiet nach dem Angriff zweimal wieder aufbauen. Schätzungen zufolge starben 70% bei dem Versuch, auf Booten zu fliehen. Die Überlebenden ließen sich nieder und verkauften eine Vielzahl chinesischer Produkte.
Der chinesisch geprägte Thien Hau Tempel in Ho Chi Minh bietet einen wesentlichen Einblick in die Überzeugungen und Bräuche der Vietnamesen, und dieser schöne Tempel ist keine Ausnahme! Das National Architectural Heritage Site bietet nicht nur schöne Kunstwerke und Antiquitäten, sondern auch einen wichtigen Einblick in die vietnamesischen Volksreligionen für Einheimische und Touristen.
Der Ben-Thanh-Markt im Bezirk 1 von Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt ist ein großartiger Ort, um lokales Kunsthandwerk, Markenartikel, vietnamesische Kunst und andere Souvenirs zu kaufen. Very good private tour. We saw all the typical sites including the War Rembrants Museum.Palace, Opera House, Post Office and Ben Thanh market. Hillbilly Jack, our guide, was excellent in working with our limitations and modifying the tour as we requested. He is a personable, friendly and knowledgeable young man who gave us a lot of information on his country. He, and our driver, assisted in moving my husband's wheelchair in and out of the immaculate SUV that was our transport. Lunch was included and it was acceptable. We also had the opportunity to stop for Highlands coffee at a local café but we declined due to time constraints. Overall a great tour, I highly recommend the tour and, especially, Hillbilly Jack, our guide.

From start to finish the experience was exceptional. Hillbilly Jack, our tour guide, made sure we knew exactly where to meet him and his driver. We were provided with interesting facts about Vietnam and were free to ask questions etc. We felt safe and comfortable in our taxi, which was spacious and air conditioned. The journey from port to Saigon took approximately 2 hrs but we were entertained all the time by Hillbilly Jack who had acquired his English-American twang from watching movies. Lunch was provided and was fantastic. All in all we couldn't have asked for more and would highly recommend.

Outstanding tour! Our guide, Loi, was knowledgeable, flexible, and has a wonderful personality and sense of humor. We had a fabulous time with Hillbilly Jack. Very knowledgeable. Gave us great narration on the two hour drive to Ho Chi Minh City. Very accommodating to our requests. Took great photos for our group. Lots to see and do. The included lunch was delicious. Duc the driver was also amazing. In a place where the traffic is next level, he drove us around all day and we felt safe.
