Our guide Malek spoke perfect English was very knowledgable and the tour had a perfect pace. A very good unbiased history of Hiroshima was explained.
Thanks! Malek's clear English, knowledge and balanced approach are what make her tours stand out. We appreciate the kind words!
I was not looking for a “to the left is a statue and here’s the castle type of tour”. Our historical tour delivered the depth I was hoping for. This was an excellent, comprehensive tour beginning with the 100+ year period leading up to World War II and how tenuous the US Japan relationship had already been. Our tour guide Cva was fantastic teaching us about perspectives from Asian history that we did not come in knowing with our US history background. He took us to each of the major sites and shared reviting and heartbreaking facts at all of them. The tour ended with seeing sites and hearing stories of the beauty and resiliency of Hiroshima- and a call that we must all continue to work towards peace. We are a family of 4 and Cva completely engaged my children of 15 and 12. Also I had clumsily sprained my ankle the day before and he was so thoughtful in finding elevators for me to more easily navigate. We had wonderful conversations about peace (and lack there of) in these current times. Beautifully done, very introspective! I highly recommend.
Thanks for this amazing review! Cva's ability to go beyond the typical tour and deliver real historical depth is what he takes pride in. We're glad he engaged your whole family and hope your ankle is better! Thanks for the recommendation.
“Cva” loves his job and it shows. He was energetic, he has a great speaking presence and intense interest in the topics. He presented the information from a balanced and unbiased standpoint and frequently engaged the group with provocative questions and conversation. A job well done, this guide left us all feeling like we had walked on a journey in time all the way to the 1800’s and the origins of the Pacific WW2 conflict. Our group included also one Japanese national who appreciated Cva’s approach and content. The tour does not enter the museum but we went the next day. The museum was worth it but it was also a much longer time-commitment. Cva did touch on much of the content in his tour but it is nevertheless a powerful experience to hear more stories from primary sources.
Thanks for this incredibly thoughtful review! Cva's balanced approach and ability to engage the group with real questions is what sets him apart. The fact that a Japanese national in the group also appreciated his content says a lot. Great tip about the museum too. We appreciate you sharing this!
Cva was a great guide, very knowledgeable and unbiased presentation of the history leading out to Hiroshima. This is an experience that makes a mark on you.
Thanks! Cva's commitment to presenting the history in an unbiased way is something he takes seriously. We're glad it left a mark. We appreciate the kind words!
Cva was a nice caring Tour guide and a great storyteller.
Thanks! That combo is what makes Cva stand out. We appreciate the kind words!
I learned a lot. Our tour guide was Dave. He was very knowledgeable. His overall knowledge of the history was great. I thought the beginning of our tour was very fitting and a somber way to start. It was interesting to learn about the different statues and monuments in Peace Park and why they are important. The extent of the damage that was caused both physically and mentally towards the people in Hiroshima and the city itself, by the atomic bomb, was very eye opening.
Thanks for this detailed feedback! Dave does a great job of setting the right tone from the start and building from there. We're glad the tour opened your eyes to both the physical and human impact. We appreciate you sharing this.
This tour is great for a first visit to the peace memorial and park. Our tour guide was great, he was a fun story teller and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it for families with kids.
Thanks! We're glad the tour was a great introduction to the peace memorial for your family. We appreciate the recommendation!
Our guide was extraordinary in the sense that he first provided a broad historical perspective on the war between the USA and Japan, starting with the wests colonisation of Asia, and Japans history of independence, and culminating in the difficult set of options available to the USA at end of the war. He then switched to provide a very personal perspective of what happened to the people of Hiroshima, and the many hundred thousands of personal tragedies that ensued; culminating in the case for doing everything possible to prevent a repeat of the Hiroshima bombing.
Thanks for this thoughtful review. That journey from the broad geopolitical context to the deeply personal stories is exactly how we believe this history should be told. We're glad our guide delivered that full perspective. We appreciate you taking the time to share this.
Cva was an awesome story teller, spoke in very clear English, and compassionate toward the history. Amazing 2 hour tour of the key monuments, key moments, and impact of the moment. Highly recommend!
Thanks! Cva's storytelling and clear communication are what make the tour come alive. We're glad he covered all the key moments for you. Thanks for the recommendation!
This was an amazing experience, I was hesitant to go to Hiroshima as I wasn’t sure it was the right thing to do but once we met Moe, everything changed. Moe is the granddaughter of 3 surviving grandparents who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing, she was able to give first hand information as to what it was like living through such a traumatic event. She has great communication skills and showed us all around the site and museum in 2 hours. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan who would like to pay their respects to a beautiful city. Thanks again Moe 😊
Thanks for sharing this! We're so glad Moe helped turn that hesitation into such a meaningful experience. Her family connection to Hiroshima's history brings something truly unique that you won't find anywhere else. We appreciate the kind words and recommendation!
