Kedung Kayang Wasserfall und Selogriyo Reisterrassen sind beide schön, aber oft von den Reisenden übersehen. Der Name selbst ist den Reisenden nicht so vertraut wie Borobudur oder Prambanan. Während die Erkundung des Tempels eines der Highlights in Java ist, ist es auch sehr empfehlenswert und lohnt sich, ein paar Stunden mit dem Auto zu fahren, um diese versteckten Juwelen zu finden. Kedungkayang und Selogriyo bieten Ihnen beide die Landschaft und Ruhe. Aber mehr noch, sie bieten Ihnen die Möglichkeit, die unvergesslichen Begegnungen mit lokalen Menschen und Traditionen zu erleben. Wenn Sie nach Alternativen suchen, die Sie besuchen können, wenn Sie in Yogyakarta oder in der Gegend von Magelang sind, sollten Sie den Kedung Kayang-Wasserfall nicht verpassen. Dieser Wasserfall befindet sich im Nationalpark des Mount Merapi. Was bedeutet das? Es bedeutet, dass Sie eine schöne Aussicht auf diesen Wasserfall mit dem Mount Merapi im Hintergrund genießen können. Nach anderthalb Stunden Fahrt von Yogyakarta erreichen wir den Eingang des Kedung Kayang-Wasserfalls. Das Schild am Eingang zeigt Ihnen, dass Sie entweder nach oben oder nach unten gehen können. Das Besondere an diesem Wasserfall ist, dass Sie die Aussicht aus verschiedenen Winkeln genießen können. Sie können die Treppe hinaufgehen, um die Umgebung von der Spitze eines Baumes mit dem Wasserfall unter Ihnen zu sehen, oder die Treppe hinuntergehen, um den Wasserfall direkt vor Ihnen zu genießen. Und was ist besser? Sie können beides tun! - Die Fahrt vom Hotel zum Kedung Kayang-Wasserfall dauert ungefähr 1,5 Stunden.
Vom Parkplatz aus führt Sie unser Fahrer durch eine Reihe von Wohnhäusern, wo Sie einen Einblick in das tägliche Leben der Bauern erhalten. Anschließend bringt er Sie zum Eingangshäuschen am Anfang des Weges, wo Sie eine Eintrittskarte kaufen können. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang erreichen Sie einen Punkt, von dem aus Sie die Reisterrassen darunter sehen können. Sie können selbst die Reisterrassen hinuntergehen, die Aussicht genießen, Fotos machen, mit etwas Glück den Büffeln beim Pflügen zuschauen oder sich mit den Bauern unterhalten. Sie sind äußerst freundlich! Die 2 km lange Wanderung zum Tempel ist nicht schwierig. Es gibt hier und da Hänge, aber keine steilen. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, sich mit der notwendigen Ausrüstung auszustatten, da der Ort ziemlich der Sonne ausgesetzt ist. Der Tempel ist klein, aber gut gepflegt. Sie können sich etwas Zeit nehmen, um die Landschaft zu genießen, bevor Sie hinuntergehen. Sie nehmen einen anderen Weg zurück zum Eingang, aber mit einer ähnlich atemberaubenden Aussicht auf die Reisterrassen, die sich bis zum Horizont erstrecken und in der Sonne glitzern.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Wayo our guide was funny and cheerful and took very good care of us. The rice fields were beautiful and we loved the waterfall. I would recommend that you bring waterproof sandals because the last part to the waterfall was a bit of a clamber over rocks and wading through the stream. But very much worth it, we highly recommend this tour and this guide.

I booked this tour to enjoy some nature outside of Yogykarta City and really enjoyed it! My guide was Salma, who was very patient and professional. He also told me a lot about Yogyakarta and Indonesian culture during the car ride. The Kedung Kayang waterfall was so beautiful, and the Selogriyo rice terraces were so lush and green. The trip was truly worth it.

If you are looking for a special experience, book here. We had such a lovely and relaxed time with our driver and tour guide Fajar from Trans Marindo Yogyakarta. He is so much fun to go with and his language skills are perfect. We first went to the hidden waterfall and continued to a local panoramic scenery near the volcanos. Additional plus was a great (real) coffee ☕️ while enjoying the view. Not a crowded place and since up high (1100m) pretty cool. Best day outside Yogyakarta ever. Thanks Fajar ❤️ you are the best. I attended this trip with my group of friends, and we had Fajar as our tour guide. He was awesome and gave us a lot of insights on the long drives and also while we were walking, answering any questions we had to his best ability. He was a great photographer at the waterfall and the fields too! Not to mention his F1 level driving skills. The experience was amazing and I could not recommend it enough. We only saw one other group of tourists at the fields so it's definitely a lot less crowded than other areas. We were lucky and the sky was clear enough to see the volcano which was awesome. A few notes for anyone considering this experience that I wish we knew is; (1) it is quite physically demanding in terms of how much walking we did when at the fields and also to get to the waterfall at the bottom, and (2) definitely bring shoes that you can wear in the water if you want to see the waterfall at the bottom because you have to cross 2 streams/rivers to get to it (we did it bare feet and were fine but if you're nervous about those things then I recommend water shoes). It was also very culturally immersive in terms of walking on the small paths through the fields instead of on a path next to it. There was also a chance to buy some locally farmed coffee at the fields so make sure to bring some cash (we didn't try any but could be good for any coffee lovers). Overall, I 100% recommend this experience to anyone interested because there were some insane views that you don't want to miss.

We had nice trekking in the padi field. We also had grey experience to the waterfall. Our driver and guide, Mr Salma is a good and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Great way to see the country side and get away from the crowds. We did 4 miles or 6 km of walking. Our guide Marman was excellent. He has a great eye for taking pictures, and we never looked this great. He was very informative. Highly recommend this activity and the guide Marman

Yeldhy was the driver today, and he had also been an outstanding guide as well answering many questions I had in mind. We visited the hidden water fall first with a good hike crossing two streams and then visited Selogriyo Temple and the nearby locally produced coffee shop. This was a good tour, a great opportunity to see the country side in Central Java.
