The driver and helper very polite and friendly, but did not offer the rest of the meal until we asked if there was anything else to eat, and we ate the rest 20min before the activity was over. Besides, the picnic ended 1 hour before the time they offer. It's over by 12:00 and on the ticket and reservation it clearly says it's 22:00 to 1:00. I didn't think it was fair and the Service was medium.
Our guide Frank was absolutely amazing, it was just my son and I and he made it such an enjoyable and worthwhile trip , we were lucky that it was only us, a couple from Italy & a family from France so a small group but we were provided so much information, the food and hot berry juice was delicious and seeing the Northern lights was out of this world, would highly recommend this particular trip
Hi! Thank you for your feedback—it sounds like you had a truly heartwarming experience with us, and we’re delighted to hear that! 🧡
It was an amazing experience, I forgot the name of the staff but he’s kind and friendly. He will remember us but I was in the truck with people from the same city in Ireland also the same plane and Same tourn🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was crazy but we made it
Wow, nice to read from such a coincidence! Glad to see the activity has been a success!
Good tour. Nice to be able to wear those good winter clothes. Nice place to wait for the Northern Lights, unfortunately we didn't see them. The only downside is that they didn't pick me up at my place of stay because it was too close to the center, luckily the guide was kind enough to drop me off there. I didn't feel like walking there alone at night.
Thank you so much for taking time reviewing us! Hope you will join us again and catch the northern light this time!
I participated in this optional tour of a package tour. Unfortunately, it was raining as we left the city office, praying that it would stop soon. The rain didn't stop even when we arrived at the site. We were given sausages and marshmallows to roast in a big tent in the dark. In the end, we weren't able to see the Northern Lights, but we were able to hear about Finland and the lives of Finnish people from a Japanese person living there. It was very good to hear valuable stories with a real sense of everyday life, different from the information you can get on the internet in Japan.
Despite the unfavorable forecasts (too cloudy) they wanted us to buy the tour, the aurora obviously we did not see. The cute and nice but unprofessional guides, did not have a camera and did not bang much in looking for a possible place with a cloud opening. 73 euros to stand in front of a fire to eat only one wuster and a treat seems a bit 'of a theft
I went with my girls and it was amazing, we were not lucky enough to see the auroras by the weather but the excursion went very well, the girls had a great time and our guides Raul and Helena are a charm.
Hola Juan, Gracias por este comentario y gracias a nuestras guías Raúl y Helena! Un saludo, Andrea
We chose Safartica under the advice of the Little Smart One, who considered this provider impeccable. It must be noted that there is then a big relaxation. We booked 3 excursions: Autumn in Rovaniemi, snow bike half a day, and a night out in search of the Northern Lights. Here are in summary the reasons why I do not advise you to go through them. First of all the services are expensive (139 euros for example per person for the Autumn excursions in Rovaniemi), so we expect a quality Service. Regarding this first outing the guide was friendly. The reindeer farm, a good time, we were satisfied. Note that another group has joined us, too bad, Safartica has no exclusivity. Husky park: we had to queue like everyone else, while other groups were priority. 40 minutes waiting under -15 degrees (and we were out of season! I imagine this excursion in December... the disaster), explanations of the commonplace guide, and the very short optional sled dog walk (40 euros per person). In short, no added value. Santa's visit, no privilege, we're part of the crowd, we're dropped off in the village, and make your life. Result: it is better to take a taxi, and make the 3 outings yourself as you please, what is the point of going through Safartica?!? 2nd excursion: the half-day trip by snowmobile. The guide was serious and friendly. The equipment is good, the ride superb in the middle of the forests. The downside: we don't move forward, it's very slow, we were a group of 8 (with two teenage girls who spent their time making Instagram photos/videos, which penalized the whole group, but the guide didn't complain despite our impatience). We weren't asking to go on a sports trip, but to go faster than if we were on foot... So, back to the hotel with a mixed feeling. 3rd excursion, the nocturnal hunting of the aurora borealis, the drop of water that overflows the vase, a very bad experience, to flee, a more than mediocre exit: disrespectful. First of all, the guides are students bordering on professionalism. Then we were a huge group of 12 people... The student "sells" us the aurora borealis, except that today there are applications (Aurora for example) that tell you if they will be visible or not. We were in the right period, the index was very good, but the cloud cover 100%, so impossible to see the stars, impossible to see the Northern Lights, there was a 12% chance at 10pm and 0% at 11pm. At 10pm I told her that we should leave now because the sky was a little clear, and I showed her the application, which she knows by telling me that she uses the same one. Only she didn't hurry, knowing full well that at 11:00 it was impossible. Instead of warning the group that all evening (from 10pm to 1:30am!) we will not see anything, to keep the payment of customers, they decide to lie and maintain a vain hope, saying "it is not predictable". Today it is, as we know tomorrow it will rain or not. We drive 30 minutes, we are dropped off around a fire (the height since it prevents us from seeing the sky, but which was completely cloudy anyway) the student tells stories without any interest about her life, the country etc. Then they heat sausages, cakes (ridiculous, everyone has dinner, no one is hungry), and tries to entertain the group to forget the main reason for our coming: to see the Northern Lights. The Comedia Del Arte is orchestrated, finally it says after 3 hours painful at -20 degrees that unfortunately they are not there... and we return, having wasted our time, our money, with people who have mocked the tourists unaware that we are. Beautiful venal manipulation. We just had to be honest, giving the group the chance to see the aurora borealis (12% for our evening), that each person makes their own decision to go or not, and that those who withdraw will be reimbursed. But it's safe, it's less lucrative, it's better to make fun of the world. Safatica, go your way, see the competition before you decide.
Nice guide, observation spot about 25kms from Rovaniemi. Unfavourable weather, just visible dawn on the lower part of the horizon. Too bad luck wasn't there.
Safartica
We had a fabulous time on this tour. We saw the Northern Lights throughout our tour and enjoyed a great picnic in the wilderness. They even accommodated for a speacial diet request and made sure all of us were at ease the whole time. I need to mention our guides for this trip. Byron and Tommy - they were funny, great entertainers, and very helpful. Tommy even helped my daughter, who wasn't having a great time (it was -14 degrees after all, which is a first for us), finally have a blast! The experience was absolutely magical and the food was delicious. You must try out hot berry juice-it is surprisingly yum! We had a blast at this tour and hope you do too. Thanks again, Safartica, for wonderful memories!
Dear Karishma90, This is always nice to read comments like yours. It is true that the activity is particularly magical with the Northern Lights, but our guides will always try to make it memorable even without them. We will pass your message along to our guides to let them know how much you appreciated their professionalism :) Thank you again and we hope to see you back next season ;) Best regards, Safartica
