I knew the tour was going to be short based on other reviews but it wasn’t just short, it was not done well. It felt like the tour guide was just badly reciting a memorized script and skipped some things that ended up not making sense (what do you mean rats came into this room so people stopped storing food in here? You never mentioned anything about food being stored in here). Then later, the nationality of a man that was executed on site didn’t make sense so I looked him up and he was from a completely different country than mentioned and was executed based on mistaken identity. I took this tour for the “ghost” history, expecting it to be hokey, but was also interested in the history and didn’t feel like we got a whole lot of accurate information. Probably would have been better to come and do a self guided visit during the day. The house itself is lovely but you don’t get to access many parts of it.

This was an interesting tour, just very short. It could have been twice as long and had more content as the story itself was very interesting.

Julie was such an amazing storyteller and you can tell she loves her job! I loved how preserved all the rooms were and I’d definitely come back

Kid friendly, mild scares, some serious subject matter discussed. For me, could've spent a little more time exploring or asking questions in each room.

It was cool not long and the First Two-story home in California that's cool. Like the store as well.

I was hoping that it would be a little scary but it was boring instead. I didn’t feel any kind of spirits or the dead that were around. I would have enjoyed it if there was something that gave me chills. It was more of a history lesson

Maud was our tour guide and was a great addition to the fun. She made the tour interesting by adding her own personality to the mix. We didn’t see any ghosts but the experience was cool! The guest shop was also fun with lots of souvenir options.

We did night tour. The house was only lit by gas lanterns which made the house feel creepy because it was so dim. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Whaleys. Our guide must have had some theatre training because she gave the right amount of pause and facial expressions as she told their story. Our group asked a lot of good questions. No one felt any presence but it was still fun and informative.

Thrilling and shiver inducing historic tour that we enjoyed immensely. The stories were intriguing, the history spine-tingling.
