Pickup point not clearly recognizable. Everyone was wandering around without orientation. Only when the travel guide Franz arrived did the tension about whether we were in the right place ease. Perhaps a stand with the company logo?!
Thank you for your feedback. The meeting point is clearly defined as the bus stop next to the tourist office. In addition, our guides are always identifiable by company signage and branded clothing to make them easy to recognize on arrival.
A really wonderful experience! My husband and I were disappointed to find that most other winery tours from Bilbao were private and therefore very expensive. We don’t mind being in a tour group and in fact, we love the opportunity to meet new people so this was perfect. Our guide, Stefane, and our driver, Marco, made an amazing day for us that took us to two different wineries with cheese pairings and exploration of a local town. Seeing the countryside from the coach bus was lovely as well when we weren’t napping on our drive home! We can’t recommend enough.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed the experience and that the group format suited you well. It is also great to know that the visits to the wineries, the cheese pairings, and the stop in the local town met your expectations, and that you were able to relax and enjoy the scenery during the journey. We will also make sure to pass your comments on to Stefane and Marco, who will be pleased to know they contributed to a memorable day for you. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in the future.
Really well thought out tour Plenty of time in each area . Both guides really good
Thank you for your kind feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and that both guides contributed to a positive experience.
We had an amazing day with this wine tour! They were right on time with the pick up and there was approximately 25 people on the bus. Our first stop was the town of Haro which is a cute, little historic town. Our next stop was Cuno winery. Excellent experience with our guide and really interesting stories about the winery. We had a tasting at the end with a cheese pairing. The next stop was the town of La Guardia. Beautiful and historic city. We had a short tour and then some time to get a bite to eat and explore the town. Really enjoyed this stop! We then visited a small boutique winery for a tour and tasting. Great experience! Highly recommend this tour for the price, value, and experience. The Rioja region is extremely scenic and great wines.
hank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed the Rioja region, the visits to Haro and Laguardia, and the winery experiences. Happy to hear you found great value in the tour.
My wife and I along with our friend went on this great tour to Haro, Laguardia, Cune winery, and a choice of a winery in Laguardia. At a cost of $88 each person, I'd say we very much received our money's worth on the tour. The tour meets at the Puppy in Bilbao and you have to be careful as there are so many other tours occurring that it can get overwhelming and confusing. From there, the tour wasn't very large (~30 people) so there was plenty of space on the bus. Our first stop was at Cune winery and the staff there was great. They were informative during the tour and gave a good background of the winery. Even better that we were served a glass of wine with some crackers cuz you can't beat a wine tour ending wine tasting. Next stop was the city of Haro and while it was a short tour, would love to revisit this beautiful city on another trip to Spain. I very much enjoyed the city of Laguardia though it happened on quite a windy day. I say this because the walkways became quite blustery as you rounded the corners. We had a choice of El Fabulista or Carlos San Pedro wineries and since we chose to have lunch first, we ended up at El Fabulista. Plenty of good choices for lunch in the city with some great pinxtos. The tour at El Fabulista was fun with some great wine. After the tour, we walked around and found we had enough time to sneak over to Carlos San Pedro winery for a tasting. Wine there was very good so we bought a bottle but will also have some shipped to us because they ship to the US. Finally, there's a spot on the outside of the Laguardia where you can take some great scenic pictures so would definitely encourage anyone to make time to go there for some great pictures. Overall, great tour and would recommend to anyone looking to get out to the Spanish countryside.
Easy paced, enjoyable and interesting experience. We visited two very different towns, Haro and Laguardia, and two very different wineries, Cunes and El Fabulista. We have been on a few day trips during our travels through Spain but this was by far our favourite.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the relaxed pace of the tour and that the contrast between Haro and Laguardia, as well as Cune and El Fabulista, made the experience so memorable for you. It’s especially rewarding to know that, among the day trips you’ve done in Spain, this one stood out as your favourite. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you again in the future.
We had a fabulous day. Very informative, the stop at Laguardia was the highlight. The winery was very unique and the wines were delicious
Thank you for your kind feedback. We’re delighted to hear you had a fabulous day and enjoyed the visit to Laguardia, as well as the winery experience. It’s great to know the wines and the tour met your expectations. We hope to welcome you again on another experience soon.
Guides English wasn't great, though very friendly. Cune tour was beautiful place but miserable tasting experience as could only try one glass and felt rushed. Laguardia was brilliant, wine tasting was lovely, educational and for a tiny company so generous with tastings and time.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the tour, especially Laguardia and its wonderful wine tasting experience. We also appreciate your comments regarding the guide's English and the tasting in Elciego. Your observations are very valuable and will help us continue improving our tours. We hope to welcome you again on another experience soon!
Brilliant day led by Stephane our guide, who was entertaining and informative. Stops at wineries were both excellent, including the best wine tour we've ever done at the Bodega el Fabulista in Laguardia.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a brilliant day and enjoyed the experience, especially the winery visits. It’s fantastic to know that one of them stood out as one of the best you’ve ever done. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again for another memorable experience soon!
I think the pace of the trip was great and a real treat for people who are very interested in wines. One suggestion is to do additional tastings at Bodega El Fabulista, the white Rioja was sensational!
Thank you very much for your kind feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the pace of the trip and the wine experience. We also truly appreciate your suggestion regarding additional tastings. We hope to welcome you again soon!
