Harlem-Gospel-Tour am Sonntag

Beschreibung

I was in New York with a group of 13 people and on Sunday we toured Harlem. Impeccable punctuality of the driver Julio and the guide Susanna. The church chosen to go to hear the Gospel Mass was Canaam Baptist Church and it is excellent. It is in a large Church in the shape of a Theatre so it allows a perfect fruition of the Mass. The Gospel Mass is exciting and engaging. The songs are moving. Whatever beliefs you have, you can only be moved during this event. The tour includes other stops to get to know the Harlem neighborhood.
A route full of stories of the African American community fighting for freedom and equality. Our guide Ludie very professional, amazing review of the history of music. The best as his introductions of the various types of music with his own voice. Amazing voice. Exceptional and spectacular. Experience 10.
It is a tour that combines a tour of Harlem with a visit to a church where you can hear a gospel choir. Meredith, our guide, was very engaging. Too bad these gospel choirs are mostly a business. If you organize yourself, you lose a bit of historical information, but you can visit an Abyssinian Baptist church where everything is very local. There is a dress code to enter, the mass lasts 3 hours but surely you can see the true soul of harlem. Personally I spent most of the hour inside the church, watching the few locals how they behaved, how they were dressed. It's still a good experience
The Harlem Gospel Choir and the other travelers in the group. Our guide was very informative and shared a wealth of information with the group.
We learned a lot of history of Harlem. Our guide made it a lot of fun. The church service was wonderful and energetic
Also for this tour, as for that of Bronx and Queens, we had as our guide the nice and very prepared Andrea, who led us to discover other aspects of an authentic and singular NY, seen by us only in the movies. The tour although concentrated in one morning was full and very interesting. The beautiful cathedral the Divine, unfortunately seen only from the outside, with the characteristic of having only one tower. Columbus University, a huge and well-kept complex that smells of history; the Apollo theater, a springboard for many artists, who later became very famous, then the gospel mass, in Harlem, an authentic and colorful piece of our tour. We participated in the service between songs and exciting moments, which made us part of a fragment of normal daily life, as if we were part of the context. Beautiful! An unforgettable experience, to try.
We enjoyed this tour very much. I thi k that there were a few comments that concerned me such as now they Harlem had coffee shops we could assume everything there was alright. Not sure if coffee shop gentrification is a sign everything g is alright in a neighborhood...
guide Enrico bravo who told us many anecdotes of the life of the greats of American rock music. he led us to the church in Harlem and who advised us how to behave to avoid annoying the community. beautiful experience that takes you to the full; not to be missed. the following Tuesday we took the tour from north to south of Manahattan with Sergio guide also very smart and professional. City expert and very helpful.
We had our Harlem Gospel Sunday Tour in German with guide Ulli. She was very competent and polite she explained the attractions in an interesting way. Her knowledge about New York beside the sightseeing attractions was also very revealing. The participatopn in the service was an experience that we had not yet known in this form, We recommend this tour without restrictions.
Enjoyable tour, well led by John, topped off with a joyous service at the Friendly Baptist Church. Visited St John the Divine church, Columbia University, Sylvan Terrace (20 three story historic wooden houses), Morris Jumel mansion and Apollo Theatre. Highlight was the gospel service with some great singing and uplifting music.
