Heinrich VIII. war ein Mann des Überflusses und machte keine halben Sachen! Auf dieser Tour mit mir (Sandy) werden Sie durch die riesigen Küchen schlendern, in denen Festmahle mit neun Gängen für ihn und seine edlen Gäste zubereitet wurden; Sie werden von der Erlesenheit seiner Wandteppiche begeistert sein, deren Herstellung doppelt so viel kostet wie die Herstellung seines Lieblingskriegsschiffs. Sie könnten auch entsetzt sein über die Geschichte von Henrys immer größer werdendem Frauenkreis und davon, wie Henry drastische Maßnahmen ergreift, als er verzweifelt versucht, einen Sohn und Erben zu finden! Auf dieser Tour erfahren Sie mehr über Henrys Leben im Überfluss: die Größe seiner Küchen, den Glamour seiner Möbel, warum er so groß wurde, wer seine Frauen waren und was mit ihnen allen passiert ist. Aber vor allem ist dies eine Gelegenheit, sich das Unvorstellbare vorzustellen: Reichtum und Exzess, der keine Grenzen kannte, was zu einem der prächtigsten Höfe Europas führte!

Der Palast von Heinrich VIII. ist das Tudor-Äquivalent eines 5-Sterne-Hotels. Wir beginnen die Tour im Base Court, wo Henry seine edlen Gäste begrüßte, und begeben uns von dort in die Küchen. Dies war ein riesiger Komplex von Räumen und beschäftigte unglaubliche 200 Mitarbeiter. Es macht Spaß, sich die Art von Abendessen vorzustellen, die in diesen Küchen zubereitet werden, ebenso wie der erste Anblick von Henrys Great Hall, reich verziert mit Wandteppichen, die genauso viel kosten wie sein Lieblingskriegsschiff. Nachdem wir die Buntglasfenster und die schöne Hammerbalkendecke bestaunt haben, wandern wir durch einen Bogen in die Große Beobachtungskammer. Hier warteten die Adligen, streng bewacht von den Yeomen, um mit Henry zu plaudern. Die Decke dieses Raumes feiert Henrys Hochzeit mit Jane Seymour, der Frau, die ihm den ersehnten Sohn schenkte. Wir gehen weiter zur Haunted Gallery, wo ich die Geschichte von Henrys tragischer fünfter Königin erzähle, bevor ich einen Blick auf seine nachgebildete Krone in der Chapel Royal werfe. - Die Tour wird etwa 1,6 km lang sein.
- Die Tour findet bei Regen oder Sonnenschein statt, also lassen Sie sich bitte nicht vom Wetter abschrecken. Tragen Sie bequeme Schuhe und Kleidung und bringen Sie bei Bedarf Regenschutz und einen Regenschirm mit.
- Aufgrund unebener Oberflächen und eines unzuverlässigen Aufzugs, mit dem Rollstuhlfahrer oder behinderte Kunden in den ersten Stock gebracht werden, wird diese Tour nicht für Personen mit Gehbehinderung oder Rollstuhlfahrer empfohlen. Besucher müssen in der Lage sein, Treppen zu bewältigen, daher ist diese Tour nicht für Personen mit ernsthaften Erkrankungen und Rückenproblemen geeignet.
- Wenn Sie von der Hauptstraße auf das Palastgelände abbiegen, folgen Sie der Auffahrt mit grasbewachsenen Abschnitten auf beiden Seiten, und ich treffe Sie am Ende der Auffahrt vor dem Torhaus an der Westfront.

Sandy is a fantastic oral historian! She navigated us through Hampton Court and Henry VIII excesses. If you love Tudor history, she is a must!!! Ms Sandy was such a sweet & lovely lady!; she is full of knowledge. Great communication before arrival with detailed instructions for meeting point and directions form our hotel. I traveled with my 18yo son and 16yo daughter. To my surprise, Ms Sandy kept them engaged and interested the whole 1.5 hour tour. If you have teens, you must do the Maze afterwards in the gardens; my kids had a blast!. We traveled June 5 and weather was perfect. Thank you Ms Sandy it was fun!

Our team were looking to expand their knowledge of the local area and introduce new employees as well.
