Morgens brechen wir von Wien aus auf, tauschen Boulevards gegen offene Felder und Ausläufer auf einer etwa 4-stündigen Fahrt nach Westen. In der letzten Stunde driftet die Straße ins Salzkammergut : Klare Seen blitzen zwischen Bäumen auf, die Hänge gewinnen an Höhe und kleine Dörfer drängen dicht an die Küste – eine leichte Vorschau auf das, was vor uns liegt. Hallstatt taucht plötzlich auf, versteckt zwischen Wasser und Felsen. Das Tempo sinkt. Sie folgen der Seepromenade in Richtung des schlanken Kirchturms, betreten den Marktplatz und wandern Gassen, die in Richtung Wald ansteigen.

Fantastic trip with Matt, the nicest guide I have ever met
The trip to Hallstatt was wonderful!! Our guide, Matt, was charming, polite, and very professional!! The town was like a fairy tale!! Although it is a lot of kilometers of travel, it is very bearable because there are stops both for breakfast and on the way back!! I really wanted to see this beautiful town and thanks to you it was possible!!

Magnificent
Not many smiles from the staff in the restaurants. Stupid look. The scenery is magnificent, magnificent, it is worth taking this excursion. Good bus driver. Too bad the guide only spoke in English.

The sights were beautiful but I was disappointed that we did not learn much historical information as I have experienced on other tours.

A trip to the Alps
Richard was very helpful, provided valuable information. The bus was clean had bathroom and the tour included well timed stops.

Worth every minute and every penny
Went to Hallstat as it was a spot on my buck list and was beyond my expectations. Beautiful, had spare time to wonder through the town, shop, gaze, feed swans. It was a absolute dream.

Fun Day Trip
This was a day filled with fun. The full day was not an exaggeration. Each stop was appropriately timed, filled with great historical previews from our tour leader and of course beautiful scenic views.

Very well planned and...
Very well planned and organised trip. There were a couple of stops on the way for using toilets and having food with plenty of time. Smooth journey to the beautiful Halstatt. Our guide, Mark, was very organised and attentive. We had plenty of time in Halstatt and went to see a castle by the lake as well. Brilliant experience.

Be Aware!
Be very careful booking this. This was to be the highlight of our Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest trip. We arrived to the meeting place at 7:15 am as stated on emails and tickets received. The tour was to leave at 7:30 am. When we arrived we would not find our guide. I received a missed call from the guide at 7:07 am. When I saw the missed call I messaged and learned the tour left! We were exactly where we were supposed to be at 7:15 am. I have been trying to get a refund but I am receiving no response to my messages. Unless this is made right, I won’t use Viator again.

The information provided in both the booking details and the reminder was consistent and clearly indicated the 7:00 a.m. departure time. Based on these records, the tour departed according to the advertised schedule and there was no deviation from the communicated departure time. We understand that this situation was disappointing, but unfortunately, as the departure time had been clearly communicated in advance, we are unable to consider this a service failure or approve a refund on this basis.
