Snorkelling was just ok. Masks could have been better. The entertainment and lunch were excellent.
What a great experience. All the crew are 'Captain' somebody, A very talented circus of blokes who can sing, play drums, play ukuleles, dance and joke. They engaged with all the people and made them feel relaxed and at ease. Swimming was good, and the water was crystal clear. It also made you more buoyant, perhaps due to a higher salt content in the lagoon. BBQ food was enjoyable with some local ingredients. We'd go again if we return to Raro.
What an amazing experience my partner and I had. The whole crew were professional and so fun. Food was good and the weather held up too. Would 100% recommend this to everyone.
Awesome experience! Thank you
I have been to Rarotonga 3 times now and have gone on Tama's cruise every time. This is a must-do activity! The first two times I was with my family, but this time it was just me and my partner. This activity is great for any type of group (or solo), and appropriate for all ages. The meet up point is easy to find and very well organised. The crew are so amazing at making you feel welcome and set the vibe so well, it is the best activity for beginning your holiday and embracing the island culture! During the boat ride, the crew sing songs and engage in conversation about their island and provide opportunity for the guests to talk about where they are travelling from. You stop and have the chance to snorkel for half an hour which is a great way to look at all the beautiful coral, fish, and sometimes see turtles and/or moray eels! If you do not wish to snorkel, you can stay on the boat and look at the sea creatures through the boat's glass bottom. Once finished there, the crew take you to a nearby island for a beautiful BBQ lunch and entertainment! You then have free time where you can relax on the beach, go swimming, or play volleyball with the crew. I would 100% recommend going on Tama's Muri Lagoon Cruise to anyone visiting Rarotonga!! Thank you to all of the wonderful captains for their magnificent energy, and kickstarting our trip in the best way possible <3
This is a must do experience. The crew/guides are so much fun. The snorkeling, BBQ and show were great.
On a cloudy, showery day we were picked up from our accommodation and taken to where the boats were. Picked up some flippers (we had our own snorkel & masks) and had a brief but funny, interactive explanation of the trip by the crew. As we headed to the snorkelling site we were entertained by the crew with drums and mandolin (?) and great singing voices. Then it was jump in the water. I personally didn’t see any large fish or turtles but was happy with what I did see. Then off to the island to a bbq lunch (which was delicious) and more entertainment. Very, very funny sarong tying demo. Then there was time to either swim, play volleyball or simply relax. A quick trip back to shore after lunch and our transfer bus was waiting to take us back. All in all a very pleasant day even though it was cloudy and grey.
Awesome experience. Lots of fun. Snorkeling was great, food was tasty and the staff were fantastic.
My two children (9, 11) and I had the best experience. The guides were entertaining, helpful, and clear. We stayed in the lagoon for the snorkelling experience and it was stunning. Snorkels & flippers are provided however if you have your own, do take. We then headed to the island where they lay out a delicious, traditional feed. Plenty to go around! (One suggestion, if your kids are picky eaters, take some snacks). Captain Tama’s put on two shows, one about the ways of a coconut and another about traditional clothing. It was very entertaining, their humour is great. Put this on your must do list! A beautiful experience! Would definitely recommend and return. Meitaki <3
Very fun and well worth it. We arrived and saw the amour of people going however once everyone spread out across the 4 boats it actually makes it perfect. The crew were engaging, fun and you can tell they really enjoy their job. My recommendation would be to back some drinks (alcohol or otherwise) in a cooler bag. Water and juice was provided at the island but we did enjoy also having our own.
