Das Tempo dieser Fahrradtour durch die Lagune und das Dorf bestimmen Sie selbst. Sie brauchen ca. 2,5 bis 3 Stunden für die Fahrt von 12 km abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade, je nachdem, mit welcher Geschwindigkeit Sie sich wohlfühlen. Wir bleiben hauptsächlich auf Schotter- und unbefestigten Straßen und zeigen Ihnen die lokale Industrie, die Lagune und Mangroven, Fauna, Flora und treffen auf Einheimische. Wenn Sie den Touristenorten fernbleiben möchten und das tägliche Leben der Einheimischen erleben möchten, dann ist diese Radtour perfekt für Sie.

Reiseverlauf
Wir beginnen unsere Tour um 8.30 Uhr für die Abfahrt am Morgen oder um 14.30 Uhr für die Abfahrt am Nachmittag. Im Haus des Reiseveranstalters erhalten Sie Begrüßungs- und Toureninformationen, Mineralwasser, Helme und ein City- oder Mountainbike für Ihre Größe. Nach einer kurzen Einweisung beginnen Sie die Tour mit unserem erfahrenen englischsprachigen lokalen Guide, der Sie zunächst über kleine Feldwege durch ein kleines Dorf zu Lagunen und Mangrovenwäldern führt. Unterwegs können Sie den lokalen Lebensstil, Pflanzen, Tiere, Kultur und die lokale Artenvielfalt im Mangrovenwald Sri Lankas erleben. Auf dieser Tour besuchen wir die lokale Kokosnussfabrik und die Handloom-Fabrik (nicht sonntags). Erfrischende King Coconut rundet Ihre Tour ab, bevor Sie zum endgültigen Ziel zurückkehren.

We booked a cycling experience and our guide Chatothu was incredible. His local knowledge was really good and the kids were thoroughly engaged. He was safe and a really good guide. I think we had around 4 hours in all, which included a visit to the coconut rope making factory and the handwoven textiles factory.. both really good experiences and definitely worth seeing to gain an insight into the hard work that goes into certain everyday products. We would recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area (we came up from hirketiya) we stopped for coconut water and fruit from a local seller which was lovely as well.

Excellent cycling tour from a very friendly team at Chameera cycling, who also arranged all the stops and payments throughout the tour so it was interesting but relaxed. Beautiful scenery and a nice refreshment stop too - would highly recommend the morning tour for wildlife (& weather)!

I had the most amazing experience on my bike tour, off the beaten track. Saw amazing wildlife that my tour guide pointed out. He was very knowledgeable and safety aware. I would throughly recommend this, an high light.
Great experience with our guide Chattu. He knew all about the local plants and animals. Lovely scenic bike ride around the local streets and mangroves. Easy ride. Fab to see water monitor lizards and the giant bats. Stopped at the local handloom factory and coconut coir workshop. Which was very informative. There is a shop selling the handmade clothes which are quite expensive and the follow you around. Don't think they were happy we didn't buy anything.
