Wir werden durch die Zeit reisen und in einem alten historischen Dorf vor etwa 300 Jahren landen. Noch nicht, aber wir werden vor dem Musmak-Palast stehen und Zeuge des größten Krieges werden, der damals stattfand und zur Gründung des Königreichs Saudi-Arabien führte. Darüber hinaus wird uns das Nationalmuseum viele Geschichten erzählen, die sich von vor Tausenden von Jahren bis in die Gegenwart ereigneten. Zum Abschluss werden wir ein sehr köstliches traditionelles saudisches Essen genießen.

Das Nationalmuseum hat verschiedene Abteilungen. Jede von ihnen versetzt uns in eine andere Epoche. Wir werden mehr als tausend Jahre in die Vergangenheit reisen, um über die Steinzeit zu sprechen und darüber, wie die Menschen damals überlebt haben. Andererseits werden wir mit der Zeitkapsel 300 Jahre zurückreisen, um den Gründer Saudi-Arabiens zu treffen. Wir werden einige Orte besuchen, die emotionale, atemberaubende Geschichten über König Abdulaziz und darüber, wie er das Königreich Saudi-Arabien vereinte, beinhalten. Schließlich werden wir die Geschichte der Vereinigung des 1., 2. und 3. saudischen Staates von 1727 bis heute entdecken.
Almasmak-Festung. Tatsächlich ist dies einer der wichtigsten Orte, die Sie während Ihres Aufenthalts in Riad besuchen müssen. Es war das Hauptquartier der Armee. Diese Festung ist eine der wichtigsten Burgen in Riad. Vor ihrem Tor fand 1902 eine Schlacht statt, die den Beginn einer neuen Ära des Königreichs markierte. Wir werden in der Zeit zurückreisen, um die Rückeroberung der Festung durch den Gründer König Abdulaziz mitzuerleben. Anschließend werden Sie den alten Antiquitätenauktionsmarkt erkunden.
In diesem Dorf (Diriyah) begann die Geschichte des Königreichs Saudi-Arabien. Hier wurde der Kern des Königreichs gegründet. Von hier aus wurde Diriyah sechs Monate lang belagert und durch Kanonen zerstört. Hier beginnt die Geschichte der Entstehung des ersten saudischen Staates und der Ereignisse beim Aufbau dieses Königreichs. Diriyah war die ursprüngliche Heimat der saudischen Königsfamilie und diente von 1727 bis 1818 unter der ersten saudischen Dynastie als Hauptstadt des Emirats Diriyah. Der Bezirk Turaif in Addiriyah, die erste Hauptstadt der Saudis in Diriyah, wurde 2010 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erklärt.

Dr Thamer did a great tour introducing me to Saudi history via different sites in Riyadh including those important in the transitions from the first and second Saudi states. He highlighted the richness of its history and also shared about life today. The just reopened Masmak palace was impressive and the real star was Diriyah which is a key tourist attraction in the kingdom. The history museum is partly closed on Sunday so I returned on another day, but having been there with Dr Thamer I was much more comfortable going alone. Great introduction to Riyadh.
Truly excellent, pickup from our hotel, then a guided tour of Al-Turaif, the National Museum and the Al Mamask fortress. We ended up having a longer day than expected, so to not get stuck in traffic he escorted us back to our hotel via the subway.
I had such a great time on this tour. Habiba was my tour guide and she was incredibly knowledgeable and relaxed. Her son was our driver who was so fun to hear stories from, a great duo overall. I felt safe as a solo female traveler, taken care of, and that they wanted me to see the best of Riyadh in the short amount of time we had together on this tour. It was great to see a mix of history through Diriyah and the Palace and then some facts with the museum. Overall would highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to explore Riyadh as a solo traveler.
Dr Thamer is really an awesome tour guide! He speaks good English and so warm and welcoming! Really enjoyed time with him, he took us to a local restaurant which is great too. He also was flexible enough to drop us off at airport, which is appreciated!

Thamer did an excellent job. The tour visited almost every major tourist site in Riyadh, and Thamer’s knowledge was exceptional. This tour visits the historical heart of old Riyadh as well as some of the more modern areas too. I would highly recommend this tour for a short stay in Riyadh.

Our extremely kind and knowledgeable guide Dr Thamer took us on an amazing tour of some of the main attractions in Riyadh. We started at the old city of Diriyah, which gave us a facinating incite to the birth of the Saudi Kingdom. This was followed up by a visit to the National Museum for greater historical perpective. Next stop was the old Souk for a bit of shopping, and then we were treated to some Saudi coffee, dates and sweet Saudi pancakes. We ended the tour with a visit to Kingdom Tower and the spectacular view of the city from the Skybridge on the 99th floor. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Riyadh looking for an interesting and thoroughly enjoyable day out.

The flexibility, learning about local food. The guide is also extremely educated and lived abroad in two different countries. He used his experience to compare with the direction of development for Saudi Arabia and was very honest about the changes and life. It was great for to hear from him that Saudi Arabia is opening up and that female travelers don’t need to worry about what they wear.
