Reiseverlauf

This trip was simply amazing. Our tour guide Milan picked us up at our hotel at the correct time and informed us that no one else booked the tour, so thanks Milan for going ahead with the tour. The drive was very cozy, Milan explained everything we saw along the way and was happy to answer all of our questions. We arrived early in Bled and we went for a boat ride to the island. 20 euro per person, it was just quick stop and we took pictures and had ice cream and coffee. Milan kindly offered to let us decide if we would like to have relaxed time around the lake or go see something else. As more and more people started to arrive to Bled we choose to go for 30 min drive to Iglica waterfall. It has 20 minute hike walking , some steep stairs but well worth the effort, not to difficult. Very beautiful with amazing view, then we ended up having lunch and Milan did not mind staying little bit longer, and then he drove us back to the hotel. We are very happy with this amazing trip, thank you so much for everything Milan, hopefully we meet again for another trip!
A beauty the.place and the landscapes postcard type, we recommend to carry your water, since on the Island is very expensive everything. A mineral water 5 euros. Highly recommended the trip
Sandra with “To Do in Slovenia” tour company was great. She was gracious, informative and helpful. She pointed out all the things to do and see and clearly outlined our options. While Lake Bled is a must-see sight in Slovenia, it is touristy and you have to pay extra for most things to do while you’re there (which is why we rated 4 rather than 5 stars). But it is a beautiful lake to walk around and of course, you have to try the original Bled Cream Cake. Thank you Sandra for showing us where to get the original version and for an enjoyable tour!
This was a wonderful day trip! Short and sweet but just enough time to see everything you need, especially if doing it in a low season. Our guide was super knowledgeable on the drive and gave us plenty of free time in Bled.
Great half day trip - there were 4 of us and we had a nice, knowledgeable driver and a great vehicle for the trip. It was drizzling, but the rain stopped just in time for photos of Lake Bled from the ferry. Wonderful. The island is small by scenic and 90 steps to get to the top from the ferry landing. The ferry is man powered like in Venice! The Castle was just ok but with incredible views of the countryside and Lake Bled and the famous church. Worth it to see this famous attraction.
We were the only 4 people on this tour and had a very nice transport and great driver / guide. Lake Bled is worth seeing - 90 steps to the top from the dock - and the boat ride out is fun, beware the extra cost. The Castle does not offer much EXCEPT for excellent photo ops of Lake Bled and surrounding area. You could also easily drive here from Ljubljana, but we enjoyed the ride and the driver.
This is a great half day tour of Bled. Milan the tour guide was excellent and provided good suggestions of how to best use the time at our disposal. You will have ample time to take a stroll through town and take a pletna boat ride to the island in the lake.
We left Portoroz, which is on the west coast, and drove to Lake Bled on the way to Ljubljana. It was raining lightly during the first week in May. Our guide took us to Vila Bled for their famous cream cake and coffee. The portions are very generous so you can share. After the rain subsided we had an opportunity to go outside on the patio to get some pictures of the castle, the island with the church, the boats that take you to the island, and the people with umbrellas waiting for the next boat. It is a picturesque location. We can say we were there. Then it started rising again and we were on our way.
Had a great time with Lidija as our guide. She was friendly and informative and knew a great deal about her country. The day was wonderful.
I booked this trip through Viator, I understood that there are minimums that needed to be met and I was travelling solo. So I had Viator had call several tour providers to ensure that I made the best choice since I was travelling on December 24th, which was not a very popular date. Before I booked, I asked that should no one else book the same tour that there would be an alternative option for that date. I was ensured by viator and the tour provider that if the tour is cancelled due to not meeting the minimum, I would then be charged double for the trip for the same day. I was satisfied with this and very much looking forward to it. On Friday December 21st, as I am about to board a flight I was emailed a cancellation and the only alternative option was a date that I was no longer in Slovenia. The disappointing part is that the tour was quick to guarantee me service when they wanted my business but with very little notice they cancelled on me. If it were transparent from the beginning I would've kept looking for other options. But I trusted them. The tour provider rudely indicated that they had given me plenty of notice (the Friday before a Monday trip!!). All in all, I'm glad it didn't work out because I ended up doing it through public transport which cost me less than 15 Euros roundtrip!! The bus station is right in the center of Ljubljana, the bus leaves you right at the lake, I walked around, rode a plenta to the island, had cream cake, took a cab up to the castle..all for less than the cost of the tour!
Dear whatsername625, we understand your personal frustration, but we can not do anything to solve it. All our tours have min no of participants, in your case 4, and you were the only one booked for that tour. We are not hiding that fact but quite contrary it is stated at every level, even at your voucher/ticket. By EU legislation which we are part of, we have full right to cancel a tour 24 hours before execution if there is no enough clients booked. Same as you have an option to cancel your reservation within 24 hours. In your case we tripled this time informing you about cancellation 72 hours due to execution of the tour. Mybe you should mention how you wanted to negotiate booking a private option with paying only extra 2 additional seats, reaching number 3, but you did not want to pay extra 3 seats to reach minimum number 4 to execute the tour. And this was the main purpose why you got angry with us, as we did not allow you to extort us. We are glad that you managed to do it by your self, but again you showed lack of respect for people working in tourism to provide service on 24 December - I am sorry but there is no free lunch in Slovenia. Milan Arsic, GM
