Jamek bedeutet „Versammlung von Menschen zum Gottesdienst in der Moschee“, daher der Name. Eine der ältesten Moscheen in Kuala Lumpur, entworfen von AB Hubbock.
Sehr panoramisch und voller historischer Stätten mit dem majestätischen Sultan-Abdul-Samad-Gebäude, dem Unabhängigkeitsplatz (Dataran Merdeka), dem Textilmuseum und dem Wahrzeichen von KL mit dem höchsten malaysischen Fahnenmast. Der Unabhängigkeitstag wurde hier am 31. August 1957 ausgerufen.

Pasar Seni, auch bekannt als Central Market, war früher ein Markt für frische Lebensmittel. Es ist das Zentrum der malaysischen Kultur, Kunst und des Handwerks. Sie können hier einzigartige lokale Handarbeiten wie Batik, Songket, Labu Sayong, Zinn usw. kaufen. Sie können hier auch einige lokale Produkte wie Kräuter und Gewürze, Kaffee und Schokolade entdecken.
Dies ist der älteste chinesische Tempel, der vom Gründer Kuala Lumpurs, Yap Ah Loy, erbaut wurde. Kwai Chai Hong oder die Little Demon Street ist ein sehr guter Ort für Fotoliebhaber. Es gibt dort viele Wandgemälde, die Sie erkunden können. Diese Wandgemälde zeigen hauptsächlich den traditionellen Lebensstil der einheimischen Chinesen.
Es ist Ihnen vielleicht nicht in den Sinn gekommen, dass ein Gotteshaus gleichzeitig kulturell und aufmerksamkeitserregend sein kann. Der Sri Mahamariamman-Tempel in Kuala Lumpur ist einer der beliebtesten Tempel bei Gläubigen und Besuchern gleichermaßen. Der Sri Mahamariamman-Tempel wurde im Jahr 1873 von K. Thamboosamy Pillai erbaut, aber erst in den 1920er Jahren für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Nachdem die ursprüngliche Struktur der Zeit und den Elementen standgehalten hatte, wurde sie 1968 durch das aktuelle Gebäude ersetzt. Heute, mit mehr als einem Jahrhundert Geschichte, ist der Sri Mahamariamman-Tempel der älteste und reichste Hindu-Tempel in Kuala Lumpur, der Hauptstadt Malaysias.

Due to poor communication between TripAdvisor and local company, nobody was at the meeting place at 9 pm. I sent WhatsApp message, called via WhatsApp, and eventually got through. They were apologetic, and immediately offered afternoon tour. I accepted the offer, my guide was knowledgeable, intelligent and funny. However, this communication failure screwed up my day. It is very hot in KL around Chinese New Year, especially in the afternoon. I've selected 9 am tour to escape heat. Instead of more or less comfortable walk, I got drenched and tired,
Yen is an excellent guide. She was very attentive, knowledgeable & pleasant. I especially enjoyed the British Colonial architecture.

We did a heritage walking tour with Ben. He was very knowledgable of the history and cultural importance of old town KL. Ben explained about Buddhist temples we visited, Chinese temples, and mosques. Walking through Chinatown was great, and Ben showed us various shops, talked about food we saw, and we even sampled some food! Ben comes very highly recommended.
My mother and I had a great time with Chua! We had a 3 hour private tour. We went at a leisurely pace so we could ask plenty of questions. I really liked how he took pictures of us and sent them to me at the end of the tour. I particularly enjoyed the tour of the Chinese temple. Would definitely recommend!

One of the highlights was the visit to the Chinese temple. The guide explained its history, symbolism, and rituals in detail, offering a fascinating glimpse into how Chinese heritage has shaped the community’s spiritual life. The architecture and preserved artifacts made the visit truly memorable. Our guide was attentive throughout the tour and clearly knowledgeable about the subject matter. However, her English could have been a little stronger, as it sometimes limited the depth of explanation. That said, her warmth and enthusiasm more than made up for it, and the overall experience was worthwhile for anyone interested in understanding Malaysia’s cultural mosaic.
This is a must do tour. Tour guide was very informative, friendly and very passionate about the history and culture of Kuala Lumpur and the best places to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese Temple and found it fascinating, along with everything else. Highly recommend for everybody.
This was definitely the highlight of my 3 days in KL. Ben was friendly, polite and very informative. I really enjoyed chatting with him as we walked around the city.
