This is a highly recommended tour if you are staying in Lisbon a few days. It’s an easy drive and the castle is beautiful and truly unique. Our tour guide Carlos told us the rich history of this fairy tale palace as well as the town of Sentra itself. We toured this town after the palace. My only complaint is that the price of entry to the palace is not included in the price of the trip. I felt that the trip was expensive enough to include entrance fees. They sent a link to buy the tickets at the last minute which I didn’t even see. So we had to put out more money for this while at the location. I also would have preferred an opportunity to go inside the palace even if it meant not touring the town of Sentra. This wasn’t offered.
The tour was incredible. Omer was such a wonderful guide. He was so patient with my kids and very knowledgeable about the areas. He took his time and showed us some gems. I am so happy we booked this and would highly recommend it.

Olcay was knowledgeable and fun guide that was a perfect fit for the tour. He answered any and all questions no matter the subject. Our driver (can’t recall his name- from Penn State) took good care of us and made sure we arrived safely and on time despite the traffic. Not necessary to go into the palace to see 80% of it from the outside and explore the beautiful gardens.

I thought it was a great experience. I liked how it was a mix of guided bits but also could have tour own freedom at parts to see things yourself. Pedro was amazing!!

Hugo was a great host! This tour was great for a shorter day, as most of the Sintra tours we found took up an entire day. Beautiful views and great food/dessert recommendations from our host, as well.

Our excursion was to include a walk around the Sintra Palace; however, it was closed due to hot weather. As a result, we were offered more time at the other tour stops, which we agreed to. However, when we were getting ready to leave Sintra village we were stopped by the police because the van we were in didn't have a rear license plate. Our guide then told to visit a local cafe and have a drink until our driver settled with the police. That took about 1 1/2 hours. So, our day was shot and we decided to go back to our hotel. I must give the driver and our guide credit, (they paid for our drinks), for trying to make the best out of the situation, however, we wasted 4-5 hours of our day because someone didn't notice the missing license plate. I must note that we received a partial credit.
We had a fantastic experience on this small-group tour to Sintra! With fewer than 10 people, the tour felt friendly, and well organized. We departed from the center of Lisbon and headed to Sintra's main castle, where our guide, Olcay, gave an excellent guided tour. He shared fascinating informations, making the visit enjoyable. His knowledge and enthusiasm really brought the history of the castle to life. Afterward, we visited the historic center of Sintra, where we had the chance to taste the local cherry liqueur, Ginja served in a small chocolate cup. It was such a delicious experience! Finally, we had some free time to wander through the charming streets of Sintra, browse the local shops, and pick up a few souvenirs. Before heading back to Lisbon, Olcay give us a traditional pastry from Sintra, which was a lovely surprise ! I highly recommend Olcay and his entire team for this amazing experience, full of fascinating discoveries from start to finish. A huge advantage of this tour is that the driver drops you off as close to the castle as possible. Especially considering how steep the walk up can be! This tour is perfect for both adults and children. If you're visiting Lisbon, don't hesitate—book this tour, you won't regret it!
