Die Idee, eine E-Bike-Tour in Rio zu unternehmen, entstand aus meiner Leidenschaft für das Radfahren und meiner Liebe zu der Stadt, in der ich leben wollte. Nachdem ich mehrere Tage mit einem normalen Fahrrad durch den Wald gefahren war, begann ich mich zu fragen, wie es möglich wäre, diese Erfahrung für viel mehr Menschen nutzbar zu machen. So kam ich auf die Idee, Elektrofahrräder zu kaufen, die in der Lage sind, diejenigen zu unterstützen, die sie unterwegs benötigen. (Die Fahrräder sind pedalunterstützt, haben kein Gaspedal und sind kein Motorrad) Während dieser Erfahrung haben Sie die Möglichkeit, viele wunderbare Orte kennenzulernen, die nicht sehr zugänglich und weniger bekannt sind. Am Ende des Tages werden Sie ein anderes Bild von Rio de Janeiro haben und viel mehr darüber wissen, wie die Stadt aufgebaut und strukturiert ist. Darüber hinaus sind Sie in ständigem Kontakt mit der Natur, mit möglichen und wahrscheinlichen Begegnungen mit Tukanen, Affen und vielen anderen exotischen Tieren.

Reiseverlauf
Wir treffen uns in der Rua Aarão Reis 105, wo ich Ihnen die Funktionsweise von Elektrofahrrädern zeige und Ihnen Tipps zur Bewältigung der Tour gebe. Wir radeln zunächst durch das Viertel Santa Teresa in Richtung Mirante Dona Marta und passieren verschiedene Touristenattraktionen wie das Castelo Valentim, das Mirante Dos Prazeres und die CEAT-Schule, die vom alten Palast in Florenz inspiriert ist.
Wir erreichen Mirante Dona Marta, einen der schönsten Aussichtspunkte der Stadt, wo wir die Fahrräder abstellen und verschiedene Fotos mit Blick auf Christus den Erlöser und Zuckerhut machen und ich erkläre, wie die Stadt aufgebaut ist.
Von der Mirante Dona Marta fahren wir zum Centro de Vistante Paneiras (Parkplatz Christus der Erlöser), wo es ein Badezimmer und eine Bar gibt, um eine Pause einzulegen.
Vom Centro de Vistante Paneiras beginnen wir den Radweg innerhalb der Straßen des Tijuca-Walds. Wir werden an zahlreichen unglaublichen Ausblicken auf die wunderschöne Stadt vorbeikommen, wir werden mögliche Begegnungen mit Affen, Tukanen und anderen exotischen Tieren haben. Wir erreichen das Viertel Alto da Boa Vista, indem wir vom Corcovado (dem Berg, auf dem sich Christus der Erlöser befindet) absteigen, wo wir die Möglichkeit haben, auf die Toilette zu gehen und sich frisch zu machen.
Ab dem Stadtteil Alto da Boa Vista setzen wir unsere Tour in Richtung Kaisertafel fort und stellen uns einem weiteren Anstieg, der mit Hilfe der Tretunterstützung weniger ermüdend gemacht wird. Der Kaisertisch ist der Ort, an dem Kaiser Dom Pedro II ein Picknick veranstaltete, mit einem unglaublichen Blick auf den Süden von Rio de Janeiro.
Von der Tafel des Kaisers beginnen wir den Abstieg in Richtung Vista Chinesa, einem der berühmtesten und am wenigsten zugänglichen Aussichtspunkte der Stadt. Von hier aus können Sie Christus den Erlöser, den Zuckerhut, Lagoa, Ipanema, die Guanabara-Bucht und viele andere Orte der Stadt sehen. Ich werde einige Erinnerungsfotos machen und wir werden den letzten Abstieg zur Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas beginnen.
Von Vista Chinesa aus fahren wir hinunter in Richtung Lagoa, vorbei an den Horto-Wasserfällen (Ort, an dem Sie anhalten können, um Fotos zu machen und ein kurzes Bad zu nehmen) und zur Seite des Botanischen Gartens Rio. Wir werden einen guten Teil des Lagoa-Radwegs fahren, von dem aus Sie verschiedene unglaubliche Ausblicke auf Rio haben, in Richtung Copacabana.
Wir kommen südlich vom Strand der Copacabana an und werden den gesamten Radweg in Richtung Botafogo zurücklegen.
Von Copacabana folgen wir dem Radweg und erreichen den Botafogo-Strand, wo sich ein spektakulärer Blick auf den Zuckerhut bietet.
Vom Strand von Botafogo setzen wir den Radweg fort, der uns zum schönsten und bekanntesten Park Rios führt, dem Terro do Flamengo. Wir werden ihn fast vollständig zurücklegen, entlang des Flamengo-Strandes und kehren zum Ausgangspunkt Santa Teresa zurück, vor dem letzten Anstieg des Tages.
Wir kommen in Santa Teresa an, indem wir die berühmteste und touristischste Straße des Viertels passieren, wo ich Ihnen Botiques und Restaurants zeige. Vom Largo dos Guimaraes fahren wir zum Startpunkt (wenige Meter entfernt), wo die Tour endet.

We did the tour with Stefano from www.vitacarioca.com (I recommend visiting his page for more details and other tours) on the first day we arrived in Rio and we were delighted. I can say it was the best experience in Rio, on par with Christ the Redeemer or Sugarloaf Mountain, but with the advantage of not having the crowds of those places. If you want to escape the typical crowded tours, this is your option; being able to go through the jungle with hardly anyone around is priceless. Jungle, beautiful landscapes, stunning views, and Stefano was a 10, very friendly, talking about the animals, giving city and food tips, etc. The bicycles were excellently maintained; they were not heavy even without electric assistance (I have tried others that felt like moving a dead weight without it), and they come with spare batteries. Everything was very well planned. Although the tour is not advertised in Spanish, do not hesitate to do it if you only speak Spanish, as he speaks and understands it perfectly at 95%. I had a fantastic experience with Vita Carioca and would definitely recommend their e-mountainbike tours. Communication was smooth from the start—everything was arranged via WhatsApp, and I could easily discuss route options in advance. They generally suggest different routes in Tijuca National Park (around 30–50 km) as well as a more urban option; I chose the longer park tour and it was absolutely worth it. Despite Rio’s heat, the temperature in the park was surprisingly comfortable, and with the e-bikes the distance is very manageable. I especially appreciated how safe everything felt—no riding through favelas—and how you get to see a completely different, green side of Rio that’s easy to miss otherwise. The guide was attentive and well-organized, even coordinating with my Uber driver beforehand to ensure a safe ride to Santa Teresa. Along the way, we had plenty of scenic stops, amazing views of Corcovado, and even spotted two sloths. The equipment was high quality (helmet included), and you can adjust the difficulty easily by controlling the level of assistance on the bike. After the tour, I received lots of great photos and videos, and the guide even dropped me off at the Selarón Steps, which was a nice extra touch. Overall, a really enjoyable and unique way to explore Rio.

If you’re after a unique and energetic view of Rio this is the tour for you. Stefano guided us through some amazing parts of Rio that most tourist would not experience. Being on an e-bike gave us a real connection to the environment which included the forest as well as the city and beaches. We saw several types of monkeys, turtles, toucans and lots of other birds. We covered 50km in 6 hours which should be considered when booking this. Totally worth the effort. Thanks Stefano for a memorable tour.

Our e-bike tour was the highlight of our trip to Rio. The ride started at our guides local suburb, which gave us more authentic feel of the city. Great bikes that made things effortless so we could relax and enjoy the views. Stefano was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we felt safe navigating both the greener areas and the coastal paths. We’ve been visiting Rio for many years. This tour provided by Stefano was so much fun. We were able to see things from a perspective we’ve never seen before. Stefano did an excellent job leading us up and down the hills and throughout the city. This was one of our favorite memories from our trip. Not to mention we impressed our adult kids doing 50k and surviving. Thanks once again Stefano- we are definitely coming back and bringing our kids on this tour.
