Das halbtägige Ayutthaya City Culture Bicycle Adventure ist ein Muss für jeden, der Ayutthaya mit begrenzter Zeit besucht. Die Teilnehmer radeln durch die antike Hauptstadt Siam, durchqueren lokale Gemeinden und halten an, um die berühmten Tempel zu besuchen, die Ayutthaya zu einem Muss machen.

Pom Phet war die wichtigste Festung und schützte den Hafen, in dem ausländische Schiffe zur Inspektion und Entladung ankern mussten. Über diesen Punkt hinaus durften keine ausländischen Schiffe weiterreisen, die den Chao Phraya Fluss hinauffuhren. 1767 gelang es den Burmesen nicht, Ayutthaya von diesem Fort aus zu durchdringen. Die Stadtmauern wurden schließlich auf der nordöstlichen Seite der Hauptinsel durchbrochen, genauer gesagt an der Festung Maha Chai. Pom Phet ist einer der beiden Überreste alter Festungen und jetzt ein öffentlicher Park.
Wat Lokaya Sutha ist eine massive Tempelruine. Er ist auf einer Ost-/Westachse ausgerichtet. Das Kloster wurde stark restauriert, einschließlich Bodenfliesen und Ziegelböden. Der größte Teil des Tempels existiert lediglich auf der grundlegenden Fundamentebene. Dazu gehören einige Säulenstümpfe und Grundmauern. Am östlichen Eingang befinden sich die Überreste von drei Vihans. Hinter diesen Predigerhallen befindet sich ein 30 Meter hoher Prang aus der späten Ayutthaya-Ära im Khmer-Stil. Dieser Prang-Turm verfügt über einen hohlen Eingang an seiner Ostseite. Die Überreste eines Ubsot sind hinter dem Prang zu sehen. Nur die Grundfundamente haben überlebt, aber es gibt viele Grenzsteine und die Trümmer eines Buddha-Abbildes. Ein großer Glockenturm steht an der südwestlichen Ecke dieses Ubosots. Der Höhepunkt dieses Tempels ist sein großes Bild des liegenden Buddha (37 Meter lang und 8 Meter hoch), das sich hinter dem Ubosot befindet.
Der Geschichtspark Ayutthaya umfasst die Ruinen der Tempel und Paläste der Hauptstadt des alten Königreichs Ayutthaya. Der Park liegt auf von drei Flüssen umgebenen Insel, auf der sich die alte Hauptstadt einst befand. Das Königreich Ayutthaya, das von 1351 bis 1767 existierte, war eines der größten und wohlhabendsten Imperien seiner Zeit. Die Ruinen vieler beeindruckender Tempel und Paläste vermitteln einen Eindruck des Reichtums des alten Königreichs.
Wat Phra Si Sanphet (Thailändisch: วัดพระศรีสรรเพชญ์; Tempel des heiligen, prächtigen Allwissenden) war der heiligste Tempel am Standort des alten Königspalastes in Thailands alter Hauptstadt Ayutthaya, bis die Stadt 1767 von den Burmesen vollständig zerstört wurde. Er war der größte und schönste Tempel der Hauptstadt und diente als Vorbild für Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
Wat Mahathat, „Tempel der Großen Reliquie“, war einer der wichtigsten Tempel im Königreich Ayutthaya. Das große Kloster befindet sich auf der historischen Insel und verfügt über einen riesigen zentralen Prang (Tempelturm), ein sehr großes zentrales Viharn (Klostergebäude) und Ubosot (Tempelanlage) sowie eine große Anzahl von Chedis und Viharns (Tempelanlagen). Der obere Teil des einst massiven zentralen Prangs ist eingestürzt. Heute steht nur noch die Basis. Eines der am meisten fotografierten Objekte des Tempels ist der Kopf eines Buddha-Abbildes aus Stein, das in den Wurzeln eines Baums verworren ist.

Really fun, good guide and perfectly long
Beam was an amazing guide and the bike ride was the perfect length to see all the sights of Ayutthaya. We especially enjoyed trying the local delicacy and preparing our offering to Buddha. Beam even recommended a brilliant place for lunch afterwards. Would highly recommend this tour.

We carved out half a day to explore Ayutthaya during our trip to Thailand and wanted to make the most of the short time we had. This bike tour was absolutely perfect to get a full city experience in a tight package. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She spoke English fluently and was familiar with several other languages. Her insights at each of the stops gave us the background we never would have gotten if we explored ourselves. The stops are well thought out and cover several of the most notable sights in the city, including a stop at a local market we otherwise never would've found. Our ticket purchase included some tasty local treats from the market. The biking route was mostly flat and easy to navigate. Some moments involved riding alongside local traffic which can be a little intimidating, but the guide rides up front while another employee ride behind to keep us safe watch our backs. We couldn't have been happier with our relatively short tour. Afterwards we wished we had planned more time for Ayutthaya, but this was the perfect introduction to such a historical city. We couldn't recommend it enough.

Great tour of several of the Ayutthaya attractions. Bung was very knowledgeable and provided insights that were meaningful to the experience. The tour time ran much longer than expected (I booked the 3-hour tour which took well over 4 hours). Although I understand they are made to appeal to a broad audience, I would have enjoyed more historical detail, given the significance of the site. The bike was good quality; I felt safe and well-attended to (the cold beverage timing was spot on).

The tour was great. Loved cycling around seeing the sights of Ayutthaya. We had two excellent guides who got us around the roads safely. Our main guide was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. She took us to various rest stops and let us get drinks and try some foods at her cost without any pressure at all on us to purchase anything. Made my daughter feel special on her birthday. Bikes were good quality and well maintained. Would definitely recommend.

The prices are almost the same as in France, and we had booked four bicycles, two for adults, and two for children aged five and nine. When we arrived, the smallest bike was too big for my daughter, so we finally rented three bikes, but the owner, a Dutchman, who has this business, just to do business, he does not care about tourists and customers, asked us to pay the same rate for three bikes as for four. According to him we resonate per person and not by rented bike, and as my daughter climbed behind me We paid almost 5500 baht, which corresponds in euros to 125 €! Not very nice, not a merchant, and the worst part is that he insisted that we pay in cash and absolutely did not want us to pay by credit card. As a matter of principle, we paid by credit card...

Nice half-day (3.5hr) tour through the inner city tempels. Child Seats available and good quality bikes. Guide takes good care and speaks good english. Despite the nice tour we found it heavily overpriced.
