Ich lebe seit 22 Jahren in der Mojave-Wüste und lege jährlich über 500 Meilen zu Fuß im Joshua Tree National Park zurück. Im Laufe der Jahre und Meilen habe ich ein Bewusstsein für Landschaft, Ökosysteme und lokale Kultur entwickelt, das, wenn es durch den Pfad kontextualisiert wird, zu einer erzählerischen Erfahrung wird, die ich gerne teilen möchte. Ich landete in Joshua Tree, nachdem ich 2001 das College abgebrochen hatte. Damals kam man zufällig an oder ein Freund eines Freundes sagte, man müsse die Felsen erkunden, die Energie spüren und unter den Sternen campen. Ich schloss mich den versammelten Charakteren an, einer Ansammlung von Dirtbag-Kletterern, Avantgarde-Künstlern, praktischen New-Age-Visionären und Unternehmern … eine Mischung von Identitäten, die später das Bild der Hochwüste schaffen würden, das heute so begehrt ist. Ich bin gesetzlich berechtigt, im Joshua Tree National Park zu führen und freue mich, Sie zu beherbergen. Ich kenne mich aus und ich möchte, dass du es auch weißt.

My guide Hollis was an absolute delight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to be able to gauge my energy level and adjust the hike accordingly. I enjoyed this immensely and it was worth every penny.
We spent a half day with Travis and loved every minute of the hike! Travis is a true expert in everything about Joshua Tree. He knows the trails, and chose one that suited us perfectly. He knows the history of the park, its geology, its plants, flowers and animals. He’s engaging and fun. It was like taking a masters class in one of the most beautiful places in the US! We highly recommended this tour!

It totally blew my mind how knowledgeable he was about everything....climate, plant life, animals, history, geology, etc. He was fascinating. Sarah is an excellent guide. She modified the experience to match our skill set. She was a great teacher, too , and engaged our son in learning. Overall would definitely do this again!
I highly recommend this tour to see the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. I always learn so much about the parks and the history with a tour guide and this trip did not disappoint. Hopefully you will be lucky to be there when the ground is in bloom!

This was a wonderful hike. Hollis was an excellent guide ensuring that she was able to tailor a hike to our interests and abilities. We learned a lot about local flora and fauna, the sensitive desert eco system and gained a deeper understanding of the park origins. Hollis was great and I would highly recommend her for your next hike in the park.
We had a great time with Hollis as our guide. She shared a wealth of information about the plants, animals and terrain of Joshua Tree National Park. She took us off the beaten path to see some amazing sites. We even got to experience snow in the Park.
