Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffe Tour

Every person who enjoys coffee should go on this tour, ticos and visitants. It’s such a rich enlightening experience! The guide was fantastic, the Alsacia state is pleasure for the sight. I recommend arriving early to enjoy breakfast before the tour. I will definitely return soon.

The tour was great and the food/drinks were fantastic! Beautiful view! I am glad I was able to book this one solo on TripAdvisor because the regular website only allowed reservations for 2+ people, which does not make any sense.

Hacienda out of operation; what nobody tells you is that the hacienda is only in use from October to February, which is the coffee season. The other months they only show you an imaginary version of what the operation would be like; in short, a mockery to me. Also, I collect Starbucks mugs and tumblers and I thought they would have merchandise like in all Starbucks stores, but they had very little merchandise and of poor quality. For example, they had a generic cup with a sticker; that peels off after a few washes. Also, they only had options with a press-on lid, and I asked if they had any with a screw-on lid because liquid spills from the press-on ones, and he said no, that it was the first time he had heard that press-on tumblers leak. Everyone knows that press-on tumblers leak; he shouldn't lie to justify that they have crappy, low-quality merchandise.

If you’re visiting Costa Rica, I highly recommend the Starbucks Coffee Tour! I went with my daughter, my son-in-law, and my two grandchildren, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The tour was incredibly informative. I had no idea how much work, science, and dedication go into growing and producing quality coffee. One of the most interesting things we learned was that Starbucks purchases high-quality coffee from Costa Rican coffee growers, and this location also serves as a research and development facility dedicated to improving coffee cultivation and sustainability. Our guide, Geraldine, was absolutely outstanding. She was extremely knowledgeable, but what really stood out was her genuine passion for coffee. Her enthusiasm made the entire experience engaging and fun for both the adults and the kids. At first, we thought the tour was a little expensive, but by the end we all agreed it was well worth the cost. We walked away with a much greater appreciation for every cup of coffee we drink. A heartfelt thank you to Geraldine and to all the workers and employees who make this experience possible. Your dedication and pride in what you do truly shine through. This is a tour we won’t forget!

Tasting freshly brewed coffee straight from the farm was simply unforgettable, with rich aromas and exceptional flavor that reflected the quality of their craftsmanship. Having the experience as a private group made it even more special, allowing us to enjoy a personalized, unhurried visit and ask questions throughout the tour. I highly recommend Hacienda Coffee Farm to anyone visiting Costa Rica. Me and my dad went as part of our family holiday, we are both very keen on finding out about the data and the staff were very friendly, well informed and happy to answer our questions. I would recommend this for anyone who is spending time in Costa Rica. The only negative is that we walked and there were limited footpaths to walk on so I recommend taking a taxi.

I have never been a coffee drinker as I don’t find the smell or taste appealing but don’t begrudge any e who does. Visited this Starbucks R&D site with my wife and niece who does drink coffee. I found the location beautiful and the short distance walking tour very informative. It gives one an appreciation of what it takes to “make coffee” prior to your barrister.

A rather disappointing tour. The tour of the farm is really just a path of about 100-150 meters where you only walk around the store. You walk about 20 meters and they tell you part of the process, you walk another 20 meters and they tell you another part, and so on for an hour and a fraction. There are a couple of coffee plants, but it's not like you walk through the fields or anything. In the end, you return to the cafeteria and the "tasting" is that they serve you a cup of coffee for you to drink. So it doesn't have much appeal, nor is it worth what it costs. A couple of days before, we went on a coffee and chocolate tour in La Fortuna, it's a whole world of difference, that one is highly recommended.
