Unser Reiseleiter holt Sie von Ihrem Hotel in Kairo oder Gizeh ab und bringt Sie dann mit einem privaten Autotransfer in die koptische Altstadt von Kairo. Beginnen Sie zunächst mit der Festung Babylon, die 98 v. Chr. vom römischen Kaiser Trajan erbaut wurde. Anschließend besuchen Sie die Hängende Kirche aus dem dritten Jahrhundert, die auf den Überresten der beiden Türme der Festung Babylon errichtet wurde. Dann besuchen wir die heilige Krypta der Kirche, da wir glauben, dass die Heilige Familie drei Monate dort verbracht hat. Anschließend besuchen wir die jüdische Gemeinde, um die Ben-Esra-Synagoge zu besuchen. Ihr Reiseleiter wird Ihnen die jüdische Geschichte und ihre Ankunft in Ägypten und den Propheten Moses näherbringen.
Anschließend Transfer zum Kloster des Heiligen Simon, auch bekannt als Höhlenkirche von Zabbaleen, die auf das 10. Jahrhundert n. Chr. zurückgeht und auf den Gerber Simon zurückgeht. Sie befindet sich im Berg Mokattam und ist in den Fels des Berges gehauen. Es handelt sich um die größte Kirche Ägyptens und des Nahen Ostens. Eine kurze Fahrt führt durch die sogenannte „Müllstadt“ – eine große Bevölkerung von Müllmännern oder Zabbaleen, die dort leben.

We wanted to see a different side of Cairo beyond the usual attractions, and this tour was perfect. The Cave Church was absolutely incredible and unlike anything we had seen before. The churches of Old Cairo were historic and inspiring. Our guide Ramy explained everything clearly and made the day memorable.

After doing the tour Koptic and Islamic highlights i continued with the guide Mina and driver George from Bishoo Travel to see the excavatrd church. Driving through “ rubbish city” where 90 to 95 % are Christians gave me a good view of the daily life of these citizens and their recycling activities, the church itself and the carvings in the rock were brilliant, together with the stories and history of the church. My guide Mina was passionated which I liked a lot.

First time in Egypt, we booked a day trip to visit Old Cairo churches and Saint Simon Cave monastery with Magic Cairo Tours via Viator. Our guide Marsil picked us up from our hotel and provided to be a wealth of knowledge of the sites we visited.
