Reiseverlauf

It was a great trip! Beautiful views. It felt super safe as our guide planned everything and we just had to enjoy the trekking. Our guide Binod was super nice and great at hyping us up and spreading super good energy.
Fantastic nice trip with a phenomenal view from Poon Hill. Our guide Binod was very responsive and we felt safe and in good hands from the start. From when we were received at the airport with flowers until we said goodbye, everything was well arranged. Accommodation was very authentic in tea houses/small hotels along the way. You get close to the families that run the sites. Everywhere we were welcomed well by cute smiling people, so we felt welcome. OBS: Important to take the package list for implicit. It’s cold in the mountains in February and the walls are thin, so earplugs are a good idea. The hike itself can be a little hard for the legs with many stairs (both up and down), but the surroundings are incredibly beautiful with rising streams, rododendron forest, giant bamboo and of course the Himalayas!
It was my first time climbing a mountain and it was great! I loved the experience of Poon Hill and especially the company with the guide Binod. Always attentive and adapting to our pace. 100% recommendable :). Lovely experience with Nepal Lions Tours
First time in Nepal, but not the last for sure... Lovely trek and great guide (Binod) always caring for us. Really friendly and enjoying with us along the trek. It was the perfect combination of landscapes, people and challenging hike. 100% recommended for everyone! Namaste and धन्यवाद!
Our team hopes you had an awesome time in the mountains. Than you for your trust. We hope to see you again on your next trip to Nepal.
I can’t recommend Shiva and his team highly enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our Poon Hill hike. It was a truly authentic experience. Although considered a relatively easy walk there were some challenges and our guide Bishnu ensured we took it at our pace. Even though we hiked in what is considered the off season and we were blessed with some fantastic weather it is worth considering doing this trek in summer. The waterfalls are magical and the fewer crowds made it a perfect time for us.
The staff were lovely and very capable. Their English was also really good. The pick up and drop off service from the international airport was also a great help, which reduced a lot of stress. Accomodation supplied was also a wonderful experience as the hosts were lovely and accommodating. I would stress that the one porter between two people does mean one bag though. I don’t really know what I was thinking would happen but yeah :)
As a lone traveller I appreciated being taken care of by the company! Vishnu was a great tour guide and was very attentive. I absolutely loved going to Nepal and working with this company! I highly recommend to Visit Nepal in 2020 with this company!
The trek was beautiful with an amazing view at the top. Our tour guide Bishnu was very friendly and got us very nice hotels and restaurants. He also pointed out the different mountains within the Annapurna range along our trek and had a lot of knowledge about them as well as Nepalese culture. The trek was challenging but very do-able. would definitely recommend this trek as well as the tour company

I did the Ghorepani Poonhill 5-day trek and overall enjoyed the experience. I originally signed up thinking I would be trekking solo with a guide and a porter, but upon my arrival learned that I would be in a group with four other girls around my age. This turned out to be awesome and I'm so glad it worked out. As for the trek itself, the views were stunning and the terrain wasn't extremely challenging. That said, I thought we would be trekking for a total of five days according to the itinerary I was given, but we actually only trekked for three days total. The first day was spent travelling on a 7-hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We then set out for our trek the following day after a two-hour drive to our starting point. We hiked about 7 miles the first day. The second day of actual trekking was almost entirely vertical for 8 miles total. The forests and mountain villages were gorgeous and we took frequent breaks. The food at the tea houses along the way is delicious. We reached Ghorepani and spent the night there. The next morning, we woke up at 3:30 a.m. to begin the 45-minute climb to Poonhill before sunrise. We then returned to the hotel for breakfast and after that, spent the day doing a total of 15 miles downhill to Ghandruk. The next morning we took a car back to Pokhara and that was the end of our trek. Our guide Prakash was fantastic and the trek itself was like walking through a fairy forest, but keep in mind that is only three days of actual hiking. I had a small issue upon arrival because I had paid part of the balance online when I booked and was instructed to pay the rest when I arrived. I assumed I would be able to pay with a credit card, but that was not the case. The operator only wanted cash in order to avoid the credit card fees. My bank would not allow me to pull the amount out of an ATM (about $350 in rupees) so my guide and I had to hunt down another tour operator with a credit card machine I could use and I had to pay the extra 4% for the credit card fee. This wasn't a huge deal, but the whole process was a bit awkward and inconvenient. Overall, I had a good experience even though it wasn't quite what I expected. The tea houses are cute, but very barebones and sometimes lacking electricity and hot water. Honestly, I didn't shower throughout the whole five days because the water was too cold. While meals are included in the price of the tour, drinking water is not. Be prepared to pay for your own drinking water along the way. That said, this is one of the cheapest tours I could find (which is why I chose it) and I don't regret my decision. After all, the trek itself is magnificent and ultimately that's what it's all about!
