Das Erbe von Chalk Hill begann mit der Ankunft von John Harvey in Adelaide im Jahr 1839, als in Adelaide etwa 6.000 Menschen lebten. Die Familie lebt mitten im McLaren Vale und blüht auf, indem sie auf ihrem 100 Hektar großen „Taranga“-Anwesen perfekte Obstparzellen produziert. Ihre Sammlung von in kleinen Mengen handgefertigten Oliver’s Taranga-Weinen spricht sowohl von der Sorte als auch vom Jahrgang, fängt eine Zeit und einen Ort ein und dokumentiert gleichzeitig die 185-jährige Beziehung der Familie zu dem Land.

Wir berechnen die Abholzeit, sobald wir den Standort und die Öffnungszeit des ersten Weinguts kennen. Einige öffnen um 10 Uhr und andere um 11 Uhr. Alle Passagiere müssen pünktlich bereit sein, damit der Tag perfekt funktioniert.

We have booked with George for the past three years for our McLaren Vale wine tour and will continue to book with him every time we come back. His warm and friendly service is appreciated, and the extra touches like taking photos and suggesting new places to visit is always appreciated. He is very professional and personable.

A brilliant day that we’ll remember for a long time - 4 guys and a wonderful day of wine tasting! George was so friendly and knowledgeable, so we could relax and he drove us to some beautiful places in McLaren Vale that we wouldn’t have known - the highlight being D’Arenberg and “the cube” there - a must see! I’ve told lots of friends and highly recommend George (he even played our favourite music on the way back to Adelaide!). Do yourself a favour and book this - you won’t be disappointed! Great wine tour visiting four very different wineries each offering very good wines to taste. Had a nice lunch on a wineyard with great views over the wines. The guide was superb, very knowledgeable and helpful even taking us to an extra 5th place for a glass of shiraz. We had a great time

George took my wife and I on a simply amazing day tasting wine through the McLaren Vale. While we were a bit time crunched, needing to get back to our cruise ship, we were still able to get four wineries, some breakfast, and great lunch in during the day. George couldn’t have been any friendlier and the best guide. We’ll definitely use him again if we make it back to Adelaide.
