It was a fantastic trip to Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. Oussama, our driver, was just wonderful. It made the long round trip (3-4 hours) very pleasant for all of us, sharing a wealth of information about the history, country, people and customs of Morocco and the Berbers. The breathtaking scenery not only compensated for the long journey, but was an integral part of the experience. Along the way, we made many short stops to take pictures and other things. Ait Ben Haddou is very interesting and impressive. Our local guide, Yahya, walked us through the ancient site and explained Berber culture. Admission to the Kasbah was charged (40 dirhams). We had lunch in Ouarzazate at the restaurant La Kasbah Etoile. There was a choice of dishes (130 dirhams + drinks). Unfortunately, we could not visit the Kasbah of Ouarzazate because it was closed for restoration work. It was a real shame, because it was an important stop on our trip to Ouarzazate! We had not been informed of this in advance. Afterwards, we were able to visit Atlas Film Studios outdoors. Our guide, Karim, explained everything very well about the films filmed there (Jesus of Nazareth, Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark, Gladiator and many others). Admission cost €8 (80 dirhams). Then we returned to Marrakech. Get ready for a long drive, but the incredible views and Ait Benhaddou amply reward the effort. Oussama, our driver, made the long journey pleasant. There was always a nice atmosphere with great music.
We had booked this trip from the USA. We got updates from trip advisor however on the day of our trip no-one showed up! The contact number didn’t work nor did the email. We think it was hacked. In hindsight it was a cheap price ( we did go onto re book with a local tour company ). We lost a day of our vacation looking to re book.
Welcome to Africa Tour, a tour operator in Morocco. This region is ancient, the hotels are old, and the mountains offer magnificent views..
This was a good trip, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is very impressive and was used in many films. We had an excellent guide that lives in the Kasbah, very friendly and Knowledgeable and was an extra in some of the films. We did have some transport problems at the beginning, was sorted out, but did delay us. Be warned that this is a very long day, lots of travelling to get there. We only had 30 minutes at the film studio in Ouarzazte, just enough time to run round and take photos. It is still worth visiting the Kasbah though.
Amazing experience.. Its is a long day of travelling but with plenty of stops and the views are spectacular.. We got the full tour of Ouarzazate which is a sight to behold and our guide was excellent ( he was at an extra cost but well worth it).. After lunch we all had a choice between the town or the Atlas studios, I was the only traveller who chose the studios but it was not bother to the driver and he dropped me off and collected me after an hour. The studios are amazing and I highly recommend them too.. Thank you all for such a great day.
We booked this after reading all info about the complete tour. Unfortunately we got disappointed as we never got to enter or see Taourirt Kasbah, just watch from outside (Closed for renovation). Furthermore we had to pay entrance fee to ait benhaddou despite this should have been in the original booking. We never got any water so we had to buy at the 15 minute stop (ending up in a extremely long queue), no time for photo, just queues to the toilet and for buying overpriced water. The bus driver was behaving really rude against some of the tourists. He also drove recklessly, taking over in blind corners, risking all for saving a second.. Would absolutely not recommend this.
Dear Client, Thank you for your booking with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. Please note that this is a shared group tour. Drinks and food are not included, and entrance fees to the kasbahs are also not included. We kindly invite you to review your booking details, where all inclusions are clearly mentioned. What you paid for covers pick-up from your accommodation and round-trip transfer with stops, along with the driver only. We are sincerely sorry for the driver's behavior. This has been recorded, and the necessary measures will be taken accordingly. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve our service.
The local guide was awful. Only notified is that we can go inside the Kasbah for a fee on out way back to the city center for lunch, we could have visited the Kasbah. He was not taking much and demanded that at the end of the tour, we will pay him 30MAD.
Hi Dear client, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with the local guide did not meet your expectations. Please note that local guides at certain sites operate independently, and entrance to the Kasbah is optional and subject to availability, especially if there are renovation works or schedule constraints. Regarding the 30 MAD (2.5$) , this is typically a customary tip for local guides and is not mandatory. However, we understand that this should always be communicated clearly and respectfully. Your comments have been noted, and we will follow up to ensure better communication and service quality in the future. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve.
The places are very nice the driver and the guide were not up to 'their roles. The guide has even lost us. The reckless driver driving and neither spoke Italian.

I knew of the distance from Ait Ben Haddou for we were prepared to the 4 hours of travel to arrive, along the way coffee break of 20 minutes at about 2000 slm , on arrival we awaited the Berber guide very bored, however he explained everything very well of all the film shot by Jesus of Nazareth, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Gladiator and so on . After lunch with greetings from the guide where he looked for us all one at a time to get the tip. After departure for Ourzazate to visit the film museum where at least of our group hardly anyone entered .Then return to Marrakech total of the 3 hour excursion between Ait Ben Haddour and Ourzazate the rest of the day traveling

We always strive to organize our excursions with comfort and professionalism in mind, including appropriate stops along the way and working with local guides to provide historical and cultural insight. Please note that gratuities are entirely optional and always at the discretion of our guests. Your observations have been noted and shared with our team as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible experience. Concerning the Cinema Museum in Ouarzazate, the visit remains optional, and we understand that not every guest may wish to enter. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in Morocco for an even more enjoyable experience. Kind regards,
Ait Benhaddou Kasbah was nice, but there was not much to see in Ouarzazate. The tour operator was not so organised. I didn’t get any information on the pickup until the evening of the previous day, even though I requested it a few times. After the visit at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, we were taken to a local restraint for lunch, but there was no guidance on whether it was included or on the pickup time and spot after the lunch.
Dear Client, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced regarding the organization and communication before and during your excursion. Pickup details are normally sent once all logistics are fully confirmed, but we understand how important it is to receive this information earlier — especially after requesting it. We will review this internally to ensure clearer and more timely communication in the future. Regarding lunch, it is generally not included unless clearly specified in the booking details. However, we recognize that clearer guidance should have been provided on-site about what was included, as well as the exact meeting point and pickup time after the meal. This is something we will address with our team to avoid any confusion for future guests. Your comments are truly valuable to us, as they help us improve our service and organization. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much smoother and better experience in the future. Kind regards,
