Reiseverlauf
Wir holen Sie am frühen Morgen von Ihrem Hotel in Cusco ab. Es dauert ungefähr 2,5 Stunden, um von Cusco zum Rainbow Mountain zu gelangen. 30 Minuten vor Ankunft am Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung frühstücken wir in einem gemütlichen Restaurant zwischen den Bergen.
Bevor Sie mit der Wanderung beginnen, geben Ihnen unsere Guides einige nützliche Tipps, damit Sie sicher zum Gipfel des Berges wandern können. Die Wanderung beginnt auf 4.800 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel, weshalb wir sie ruhig und langsam angehen müssen. Oben auf dem Berg angekommen, werden Sie feststellen, dass sich die harte Arbeit gelohnt hat! Unsere Guides erklären Ihnen den Ursprung des Berges und geben Ihnen etwas Freizeit, damit Sie dieses Naturwunder voll und ganz genießen können.
Nach einem ganzen Tag voller Abenteuer ist es jetzt Zeit für ein wohlverdientes Mittagessen. Die Wanderung zurück zum Parkplatz sollte etwa 1,5 Stunden dauern. Wir haben ein Restaurant ausgewählt, in dem Sie das Beste der peruanischen Küche probieren können. Sobald wir mit allen Aktivitäten fertig sind, kehren wir nach Cusco zurück. Die Abgabe erfolgt an Ihrer Unterkunft.

It was a really good tour that I would highly recommend. They provide food before and after the hike which is really good cause you have to wake up early and then feel exhausted and hungry after the hike. The guide even provided us with walking sticks, which helped a lot. He offered to take pictures of two of us. However, the tour advertised that we will be picked up from our hotel, which didn't happen in our case. Although our hotel wasn't accessible by car, they could've chosen a closer pick-up location at least. Another slight issue was although we were given a meet-up spot, it was a huge square and we had to message the organisers for some time before they got back to us saying they'll be there in 2 mins, which was later than agreed.
Excellent guide, the vehicle was new. Overall very good.

It is a long 3+ hours trip from Cusco but once you get to the top of the mountain the views are awesome. I would highly recommend paying for a horse unless you’re under 30 and very fit. The altitude affect is significant

This is a must see even during rainy season! The coordination of transfers was seamless, there were horses for those who didn’t want to make the entire hike up and/or down, and the guide and driver took great care of us. The meals were also wonderful.
Ernesto made me feel welcome from the beginning. He was concerned for me during the trek and checked in with me several times. I appreciated his concern and professionalism. Our driver William was kind and very skilled. He was the first to greet me when I made it down the mountain!

Professor Roberto was extremely competent in teaching us about the general culture of the Incas, about the Andean region and about the Quechua language, in addition to being very friendly. The tour was great, very fun and the beautiful landscapes.
