Reiseverlauf
Der Ausflug beginnt an Ihrem Hotel, Flughafen oder Treffpunkt. Nach einer 1-stündigen Fahrt erreichen Sie die kleine mittelalterliche Stadt Ston, wo Sie einen schönen Spaziergang auf den Stadtmauern von Ston machen können. Nach diesem etwa 30-minütigen Spaziergang geht es weiter in Richtung der Salinen. Sie lernen den technologischen Prozess zur Gewinnung von Meersalz und seine hervorragende Qualität kennen. Wenn die Tour endet, fahren wir etwa 1 Stunde 30 Minuten vor Split zur Burg Klis.
Die imposante Festung Klis (Tvrdava Klis) wurde in die Kalksteinfelsen außerhalb von Split gebaut und war einst eine wichtige Verteidigungsfestung zwischen dem Mittelmeer und dem Balkan. Es beherbergte den Sitz vieler kroatischer Könige, obwohl es heutzutage besser als Drehort für die fiktive Stadt Meereen in der Serie Game of Thrones bekannt ist. Diese Attraktion können Sie in 1h 30min sehen. Danach müssen wir 30 Minuten ins Zentrum von Split fahren.
Nach Klis 30-45min starten Sie die Tour an der Split Riva, der Promenade von Split. Durch das Bronzene Stadttor betritt man das Untergeschoss des Palastes. Die Gewölbekeller sind intakt und nach über 1700 Jahren sehr gut erhalten. Dann geht es weiter zum sakralen Teil des Palastes, dem Perystil, und der Kathedrale, die einst das Mausoleum Diokletians war. Der heidnische Jupitertempel wurde im 7. Jahrhundert zum Baptisterium. Sie spazieren entlang der Cardo, der ehemaligen Hauptstraße des Palastes, und bewundern das Goldene Tor. Dann können Sie etwa 2h45m zu Mittag essen, Kaffee trinken oder etwas trinken. Danach treffen wir uns an der Dropzone und kehren gegen 2h 30min zum Hotel zurück. Auch wenn Sie etwas mehr brauchen, sind wir flexibel, um Ihre Reise perfekt zu machen.

Mateo is so gracious and friendly. His car is very comfortable and he is a very safe and efficient driver. We made excellent time on the round trip and he was very flexible in timing so we could utilize our time how we wanted to. He’s given us terrific local tips for restaurants and local sights. If you’re doing a day trip to Split (or other activity) I highly recommend Mateo. He’s great with kids, and totally easy going.

Mateo was an excellent tour guide! He put together 2 personalized tours for our group. The first was to Perast and Kotor Montenegro from Dubrovnik. The second was from Dubrovnik to Split, going through Mostar and hitting many other great sights along the way. A highlight was the lunches he arranged for us both days! In Mostar we sat over looking the bridge at Terace Legaro. The food was amazing and the view is incredible. He had the best table in the place reserved for us ahead of time. His tours are well thought out and well planned. He even sends pictures at the end of the day. He is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend!

Mateo was simply the best, he not only ensured we get to see so many amazing places, but kept the journey very comfortable, taking us through some of the most scenic paths, and at same time, explaining about the salient aspects of the place. He is well informed and an amazing sense of the entire region (not a single time, saw him using Google maps). We used his service while transiting from Dubrovnik to Split and on the way took us through the Botanical garden, Ston, Blagaj, Mostar, Kravice waterfalls. Would strongly recommend Mateo to anyone looking for a private taxi operator to travel across Croatia!!
