Die Stadt Petra, die Hauptstadt der nabatäischen Araber, ist eine der berühmtesten archäologischen Stätten der Welt. Sie liegt 240 km südlich der Hauptstadt Amman und 120 km nördlich der Stadt Aqaba am Roten Meer. Petra, das Weltwunder ist zweifellos Jordaniens wertvollster Schatz und größte Touristenattraktion und wird von Touristen aus der ganzen Welt besucht. Es ist nicht genau bekannt, wann Petra erbaut wurde, aber die Stadt begann ab dem 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. als Hauptstadt des Nabatäerreichs zu gedeihen, das durch den Handel mit Weihrauch, Myrrhe und Gewürzen reich wurde. Petra wurde später dem Römischen Reich angegliedert und blühte weiter, bis ein großes Erdbeben im Jahr 363 n. Chr. im 4. Jahrhundert n. Chr. einen Großteil der Stadt zerstörte.

Wir holen Sie überall in Aqaba ab und fahren mit einem kurzen Zwischenstopp nach Petra. Es dauert etwa 2 Stunden, bis wir das Besucherzentrum von Petra erreichen, wo wir unsere Wanderung zum 8. Weltwunder beginnen. Nach 800 m erreichen wir den Siq (einen 1.200 m langen, 3 bis 12 m breiten und bis zu 80 m hohen Felsenkanal). Der Siq öffnet sich zu Petras prächtigster Fassade – der Schatzkammer oder Al Khazna. Hinter der Schatzkammer weitet sich der Weg zu einer breiten Straße der Fassaden aus, die auf beiden Seiten von den Gräbern flankiert wird, die die gesamte Stätte charakterisieren. Die Straße der Fassaden führt uns zum 5.000 Sitzplätze fassenden Theater, das genau in die Mitte eines großen Friedhofsgebiets gehauen ist: Gegenüber dem Theater auf der Westseite des Jebel Khubtha erreichen wir unseren Endpunkt – die Königsgräber. Nach einer Besichtigung der Königsgräber geht es zurück nach Aqaba. Die restlichen vier Stunden sind für den Transport vorgesehen.

I had an absolutely great experience.Loiy organized a mile ride and to take me to Wati Rum in the afternoon. Everything was seamless. I saw it all. Thank you. It was expensive but my time was critical. And so worth it😁
Overall the driver was very helpful, honest & clear , he saved us from a bunch of drivers who looked greedy and we definitely recommend this driver & his tours , we did tours in aqaba , even during the crisis in middle east ,he was helpful and didn't take advantage of us.

The Petra experience was an awesome trip from start to finish. Our driver Odai Hamideh "What's apped" us several days prior to the day of the trip to confirm the pickup location and time. His time was flexible because he asked us what time did we want to leave. Also we stayed in Aqaba outside of the pickup zone and he still was able to pickup us for a small fee. Once we got to Petra Odai recommended to take us around to the back entrance and go in there and end up at the main entrance when we were finished. That was a great idea because we got to see more and did not have to backtrack. Once we entered Petra we hired donkeys to take us up to the monestary and back. That was great because we covered more ground quicker. After that we continued our way through Petra taking in all of the beautiful structures along the way. Once we arrived at the Treasury we took a club car back to the entrance and that was recommended by our driver also. This is a remarkable place to visit and pictures do not do any justice. My advice is to enter in the back of Petra take the donkey for a distance and continue making your way to the main entrance because you can see more with less walking. Trip of a Lifetime!
AMAZING!! it was incredible... Petra is so breathtaking and well worth the walk! Our driver was really friendly spoke great english and was happy to stop as and when we needed. He suggested dropping us off at the end of the city, to walk back into petra, so we could see ALL of the sites not just the main treasury ( India Jones!). This took about 3hrs as a leisurely pace and saved us having to walk back another 3hrs! We were lucky, it wasn't busy at all. We got there at midday! Take plenty of water, as it's pretty dear there! There are plenty of toilets along the way to and little shops for last minute snacks. You pick up a map and follow it to see all 13 sights. Super easy! We got the Jordan pass, so this was included saving us the 50JD fee. The little market outside wasn't too pushy and let you look at leasure. As in all a fantastic day out and we'll worth the money. 10/10!
He was an awesome ride and suggested another route to take in Petra, his suggestion made our trip a whole lot better and enjoyable! I 100% recommend taking this trip!

The trip was very beautiful. We stayed at the Ayla Hotel and it was very beautiful. We visited Wadi Rum and Petra with a wonderful transportation service and the workers were nice, respectful and patient with us.
