Whale watching in Puerto Madryn is an unforgettable experience. Although I had been there many years ago, I now shared the emotion with grandchildren. I highly recommend this excursion. Our departure from Puerto Pirámides was made with Tito Botazzi and proved excellent sailing with experienced staff.
Everything was very nice!! We had an excellent time, beautiful day, incredible being next to the whales, we saw two very close and they were walking with their calves!! What a wonderful place.
We booked this excursion with an English tour guide several months ago. The night before, we were contacted with two different departure times (first at 8:30 am and then at 7:30 am). Upon being picked up we were told that the tour would be in Spanish for a 12 hour duration of the tour. The guide showed us that the booking company Luna Roja had told her we were Spanish-speaking. Furthermore, upon entering the park, the entrance fee listed by Luna Roja was incorrect (should be 2800 pesos per person, but we were told 1200 per person), leaving us with not enough cash for the rest of the day. The tour itself was an amazing excursion, the guide and our group members did their best to include us. Luna Roja doesn’t list the full itinerary or the fact that no one takes credit card and you’ll need cash, which is crucial information. All in all, we would recommend a whale watching excursion, just not through Luna Roja— they are unresponsive and not helpful.
