Eine Tagestour in kleiner Gruppe von Ljubljana zu den UNESCO-geschützten Höhlen von Škocjan und der venezianischen Küstenstadt Piran, mit einem lizenzierten Ortskundiger Reiseleiter und nicht mehr als 8 Gästen. In einem Land mit Tausenden von Höhlen ist Škocjan derjenige, zu dem wir unsere Freunde mitnehmen. Sie gehen durch eine unterirdische Schlucht, die vom Fluss Reka geschnitzt wurde, über eine Fußgängerbrücke, die fast 50 Meter über dem Wasser liegt, durch Hallen, die groß genug sind, um eine Kathedrale zu halten. Sie ist UNESCO-geschützt und weitaus ruhiger als Sloweniens geschäftigere Schauhöhlen, weshalb wir sie für diese Route gewählt haben. Auf dem Weg zur Küste halten Sie an der Burg Socerb, die am Rande des Karstplateaus mit dem ganzen Golf von Triest unten thront. Dann Piran, fünf Jahrhunderte Venedig in einer kompakten Altstadt : enge Gassen, Tartini-Platz, der kleine Hafen, Zeit für ein Mittagessen mit Meeresfrüchten am Wasser und in den Sommermonaten genug Freizeit für ein Bad in der Adria. Ihr Fortgeschrittener weiß, welche Konoba Ihre Stunde wert ist.

Ihr Tag beginnt mit der Abholung im Zentrum Ljubljanas. Auf der etwa 1-stündigen Fahrt stellt Ihr Fortgeschrittener den Karst vor, die Kalksteinregion, die den Karstlandschaften weltweit ihren Namen gegeben hat, und die Höhle, durch die Sie gerade gehen werden. Dann eine 2-stündige Führung durch die Höhlen von Škocjan : eine unterirdische Schlucht, die vom Fluss Reka geschnitzt wurde, eine Fußgängerbrücke, die fast 50 Meter über dem Wasser liegt, Hallen, die groß genug sind, um eine Kathedrale zu halten. UNESCO-geschützt und weitaus ruhiger als Sloweniens geschäftigere Schauhöhlen.
Auf dem Weg zur Küste halten Sie an der Burg Socerb, die am Rande des Karstplateaus liegt. Vom Schloss aus öffnet sich der gesamte Golf von Triest unter Ihnen, die slowenische Küste und Italien in einem Blick. Ein kurzer Halt, Zeit für Fotos und die Aussicht.
Dann Piran, fünf Jahrhunderte Venedig in einer kompakten Altstadt : enge Gassen, Tartini-Platz, der kleine Hafen. Ihr Fortgeschrittener führt Sie durch die Altstadt, dann ist die Zeit für Sie, ein Mittagessen mit Meeresfrüchten am Wasser, einen Kaffee auf dem Platz und in den Sommermonaten ein Bad in der Adria. Ihr Fortgeschrittener weiß, welche Konoba Ihre Stunde wert ist. Nach der freien Zeit geht es entspannt zurück nach Ljubljana mit einem Drop-off im Zentrum.

This was an outstanding day trip and one of the highlights of my visit to Slovenia. The Škocjan Caves were absolutely incredible. Seeing this UNESCO World Heritage Site in person is an experience that photos simply can't capture. The immense underground chambers and natural formations were breathtaking, and the guided tour was both informative and well organized. After the caves, we visited Piran, a beautiful coastal town with charming streets, stunning Adriatic views, and a relaxed atmosphere. It was the perfect contrast to the caves and gave us time to explore, enjoy the scenery, and experience another side of Slovenia. The entire day was well paced, professionally organized, and offered a wonderful mix of natural beauty, history, and culture. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Slovenia.

This was a last minute tour because two different vendors both had canceled my coveted tours. However, this made up for the dissapoint of the promised tours. Went to the Ŝkocjan Caves, and Piran. I felt went into two different environments one was mountainous and other Mediterranean. My guide Tomaź was great. He answered all my questions, was always prompt, and warmly personable with the travelers.

A lot of driving on the road and ticket is not included in the price but this is a small group compared to other tour group.

The guide Thomas was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating. Varied experiences. The caves were awe-inspiring with a pleasant walk to get to them and a walk up to a viewpoint with Thomas afterwards. Seeing the river flowing through the cavern was marvellous as were the columns formed over thousands of years. Made me think of 'Alien'. We drove to the home of the Lippanzaners. Seeing literally (I mean it) hundreds of the white horses fulfilled a childhood dream. I was impressed that we could drive past their fields and take photos without hindrance. Then a drive to Piran, a picturesque place with a nice seafood restaurant recommended by our guide. A worthwhile experience.

What a day out! Our guide Nina did a brilliant job on that day, her pace was gentle and clean, her commentary is well constructed and relevant and also pleasing to the ears, she is one of the best guide I had in Slovenia, very clear instruction throughout the day. The day is well out together, with the beautiful magnificent cave to start the day then relaxing in Piran, a great day out.

Went to both Postojna and Skocjan Caves, both should be visited, each has something unique and breathtaking. There are around 500 steps to go up in Skocjan Caves, worth it, but something to consider when deciding your itinerary. Piran is a lovely little town, unfortunately for us it rained the whole day, but we had a fabulous meal and dessert, so enjoyed the experience regardless of the weather.
We completely agree that both Postojna Cave and Škocjan Caves are unique in their own way and absolutely worth visiting. We are sorry that the weather did not cooperate during your visit, but we are happy to hear that you still enjoyed the atmosphere of Piran. A good dessert often helps! 😊

Great guide and amazing views/scenery.
The cave is outstanding but it’s 3 kilometers and 500 steps, plus a lot of sloping up and down walkways. My watch said I climbed 59 stories. Piran is an attractive coastal town - only 4000 residents. Not too crowded for his time of year. The guide was great. Shares much knowledge of Slovenia and the sites we saw. Highly recommend!
