A great day! Sarah helped us arrange the tour and was great. We knew her from a few years ago and was as professional as ever. Our driver/ guide was Hughes and whilst I am sure all the guides are excellent I would recommend Hughes as he was great. Excellent driver, and we were given a complete history lesson of the island which was very interesting. The only downside was the lunch. Whilst the location was amazing, the food was disappointing. I would give guests on this tour the opportunity to choose from the A La Cate Menu as an alternative. Once again, many thanks to Sarah and Hughes for a great day
We had two full day private tours in the south and the north of the Island. Both were excellent and very different in that the south was a nature tour and the north a city tour. We enjoyed both of them. Our driver guide Vijay was one of the best guides and person that we have met in a long time. A thoroughly decent man and also very knowledgeable. I would recommend him every time. Black river Gorges National Park was especially good.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed both the South and North tours and experienced the diversity of Mauritius. Your kind words about Vijay mean a lot to us, and we will be sure to share your compliments with him. We are especially pleased that Black River Gorges National Park was a highlight of your visit. We hope to welcome you back to Mauritius again soon!
In addition to this wonderful excursion, we also went on the northern tour. Our driver-guide (Ashvi...) was outstanding, with the advantage of speaking decent Italian. The driver was attentive and precise, and the places we saw both in the south and north were marvelous. Even for the transfers to and from the airport, the organization assisted us with everything until the end, accommodating our needs.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and courteous. Totally enjoyed this experience
Highly recommended tour provider and guide! We had an absolutely fantastic day. Beautiful places and a super knowledgeable, friendly and open-minded guide. He made the whole tour experience even more enjoyable! If you are visiting South Mauritius and would like to learn more about the culture and nature, this is a must.
You book, they accept, you wait they don’t turn up. And then cancel because it’s a holiday. Why accept the booking at all?
This was my second private trip, but not the best. The driver couldn’t find me on the road but that aside he didn’t seem to be that enthused in doing the trip and seemed more interested in financial gain. He moaned about the French tourists not tipping or not tipping much. So first off he was into changing the trip itinerary because of the traffic later on and although I pointed out exactly what I’d paid for he said he wouldn’t be allowing the lunch trip and one of the beach drop offs. So to ensure the trip went ahead I agreed and told him I’d take it up with Viator directly once the trip had ended, which I did. First stop was the volcanic crater which really is a waste of time. There’s no viewing platform so you can barely see it (15 mins of walking around trying to get a decent photo). Then a large Hindu temple with a park and lake. This was interesting and was brimming with Hindus and Macaques - the driver actually had to take me here. We then visited a workshop that made wooden sailing ships to export and sell in their shop. Very detailed models and interesting process but hard selling from the staff. The rest of the trip was in the National Park, and this was beautiful. First viewing platform showed the vastness of the park and the animals, particularly the White Tailed Tropicbird which was in abundance there. Lastly a trip to the Seven Coloured Earth site which included another large viewing point of waterfalls which was impressive. The coloured earth attraction was excellent, large path right around it and included a bee hive section, a tortoise sanctuary, and a café plus toilets. I loved this and had about an hour or so to get round it all. After this I just wanted to get back. I did tip the driver but not sure he deserved it. I have since been agreed a partial refund of 1/3 of the price because of not visiting 2 sites and lunch which I’d paid for. Apart from the driver it was quite an enjoyable trip. I’d rather have been with a group though, I do enjoy meeting new people.
We had a great experience doing this tour, our driver Richard was lovely. Very knowledgeable and really friendly and answered our many questions about the island! The tour itself was amazing even in the rain, the included lunch was delicious.
Great company to discover Mauritius! Excursions may be a little expensive but it's worth it! Special mention to Yuvrin! And their driver are incredibly kind!
This was a tour with just the two of us and guide for the day. It was in our opinion well worth the expense. The guide and our driver for the day was brilliant. He was very informative about the island. He never once rushed us at any of the locations we visited but told us to take our time. The tour included the volcanic carter, the Hindu temple at the sacred lake, The Chamarel waterfalls and the seven coloured earths, and Chamarel Rum distillery and tasting. It also included lunch at a restaurant at a great restaurant. All in all it was a great day and we got to see some of the lovely Mauritius island.
