Reiseverlauf
Eine angenehme Zugfahrt nach Kutná Hora dauert etwa eine Stunde. Unser erster Halt in Kutná Hora ist die ehemals größte Zisterzienserabtei Mitteleuropas mit der beeindruckenden Kathedrale Mariä Himmelfahrt und des Heiligen Johannes des Täufers.
Nur wenige Schritte von der Kathedrale entfernt liegt die Friedhofskirche Allerheiligen mit Beinhaus. Sie erfahren, warum und wie das Beinhaus entstand, und sehen die erstaunlichen Kunstwerke aus menschlichen Knochen. Nach dem Besuch steigen wir in einen Bus, der uns in die Innenstadt bringt.
Nach der Busfahrt in die Innenstadt machen wir eine einstündige Mittagspause in einem traditionellen tschechischen Restaurant und besuchen anschließend die Weinkeller, die unter dem ehemaligen Kloster St. Ursula versteckt sind. Ihr Sommelier wird Sie in den aufwändigen Weinherstellungsprozess einführen, der den strengsten biodynamischen Methoden folgt. Dadurch erhielt das Weingut ein DEMETER-Zertifikat und ist damit das einzige Weingut in der Tschechischen Republik, das dieses Zertifikat besitzt. Wir probieren 8 Weinproben, gepaart mit Käse und Schinken.
Nach der Weinprobe besichtigen wir das beeindruckendste Gebäude von Kutná Hora – die St.-Barbara-Kathedrale, die fast wie ein Museum für den gotischen Architekturstil und seine Entwicklung im Laufe der Jahre wirkt. Da dies die letzte Station in der Stadt ist, steigen wir in einen Bus, der uns zum Bahnhof bringt, von wo aus es eine einstündige Fahrt zurück zum Prager Hauptbahnhof gibt.

There is no photography allowed in the ossuary which was disappointing. Otherwise it was a great tour!
Amazing experience! Our tour guide Michal Wes superb. He picked us up at our hotel, took us by train to Kutna Hora, and guided us through the most important and beautiful historic places in the town. Michal provided a top rate narrative about the history and significance of each place. We had a wonderful lunch and the tour concluded with a wonderful wine tasting event at a local winery. This was an excellent full-day private tour.
Michal was an amazing guide, filling the day with facts about the history of our stops. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about wine and its provenance in the Czech Republic. We would absolutely use him again for another trip.
Despite the cold rainy weather, we were able to see so much in Kutná Hora - the Bone Church was a highlight, along with the cathedrals. Lunch brought a delicious break from the sightseeing and rainy weather - wonderful Czech cuisine. Wine tasting was lovely. We were able to try varietals that we have never had before in a relaxed setting with a few unique bites to pair along with them. Our guide, Michael, shared lots of stories throughout the day about Czech history and culture. He also guided us through traveling by Metro and train. Definitely recommend this day trip!

Absolutely brilliant day trip from Prague - it was well worth getting out of the capital and exploring Kutna Hora. It has a fascinating history in both silver mining and wine production. Our guide, Michal from Explore Prague, was incredibly knowledgeable and organised, and his tour was well paced and really interesting. We never felt rushed, and had plenty of time to see everything at each stop. Really interesting dive into some of the history of the area outside Prague. Lunch was delicious, and the wine tasting was absolutely delightful. It definitely elevated this day tour to something special.

Mike is brilliant fun and we had a great time learning about this charming town from him. He made the whole day so easy for us from the metro to the train to strolling through Kutná Hora. Lunch was delicious in a wonderful local restaurant with a cool garden. The wine tasting was wicked good and we loved touring the wine cellar. Mike taught us so much about Czech history and current industries. Best guide ever!
