Das Gateway of India ist ein im 20. Jahrhundert in Mumbai, Indien, errichtetes Bogenmonument. Das Denkmal wurde zur Erinnerung an die Landung von König-Kaiser George V. und Königin-Kaiserin Mary bei Apollo Bunder während ihres Indienbesuchs im Jahr 1911 errichtet. Der Grundstein für das im indo-sarazenischen Stil erbaute Gateway of India wurde am 31. März 1911 gelegt. Das Bauwerk ist ein 26 Meter (85 Fuß) hoher Bogen aus Basalt. We got a great car and walking tour of the must see spots in Mumbai. Our guides showed us several things not in guide books. They knew about the architecture and history of well known landmarks as well as some obscure gems. Later in the day we visited elephanta caves. Manoj was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of the caves. We learned about each sculpture, things we would not have picked up on without someone to show us. In addition, he knew all the cool spots to catch a break from the heat. We really enjoyed the tour and highly recommend him as a guide!

Our guide was absolutely wonderful. She was very kind, caring, and attentive throughout the whole trip.
