Auf dieser Tour kommen wir an Stone Town vorbei, wo Sie einige der beliebtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten sehen können. Altes Fort, Forodhani Park, Haus der Wunder (Nationalmuseum), Sansibar Hafen, State House usw. Dort nehmen wir auch ein Boot nach Prison Island, dann nach Nakupenda Sandbank und später nach der Reise kehren wir nach Stone Town zurück.
Auf Prison Island können Sie Aldabra-Riesenschildkröte, Pfauen, Dik-Dik (Arten kleiner Antilopen), Gefängnisruinen usw. sehen. Eine interessante Tatsache über die Aldabra-Riesenschildkröte ist, dass sie mehr als 200 Jahre leben kann. Der älteste auf Prison Island ist 197 Jahre alt. Sie sind eines der am längsten lebenden Tiere der Welt. Gefängnisruinen: Dies ist ein Gebäude, das 1983 für das Zentralgefängnis von Sansibar errichtet wurde. Der Bau des Gefängnisses begann 1893. Im selben Jahr waren sie eine Cholera-Epidemie in Ägypten und kurz darauf die Beulenpest in Bombay. Da Sansibar der wichtigste ostafrikanische Hafen war, beschlossen die Behörden, dass das Gefängnis und andere errichtete Gebäude als Quarantänestation für angemessene Kontrollmaßnahmen für Schiffe und ihre Passagiere bereit bleiben sollten, um das Risiko einer Epidemie im Sansibar-Archipel zu vermeiden.
Nakupenda ist ein Name für eine Sandbank, die sich in der Nähe der StoneTown befindet. Nach der Prison Island-Reise fahren wir zur Nakupenda Sand Bank, wo Sie sich entspannen, schwimmen und schnorcheln können. Es ist einer der besten Strände in Sansibar. It was an amazing experience with them, especially our guide Ahmed who was very nice and explained everything in detail. He also accomodated our dietary preferences, as we are vegetarian and the lunch provided was delicious.
Amazing scenery, awesome fresh seafood. Considerate tour guides and drivers. The boat rides to and from the islands are small old boats so try to pack minimally.

My husband and I had a beautiful time with the best tour guide, Selma! The prison island was cool, the sandbank was beautiful and the lunch was delicious! The only thing is, if you get sea sick, I would not recommend! The boat ride can be very rocky! Overall, amazing excursion!
Its the memory The Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island which is located in the western part of Zanzibar Island, just off Stone Town. It takes around 25 minutes by local boat riding from the Stone Town beach. The island’s main attraction is the popular Giant Tortoises, who can live up to 200 years. In this tour, you will get a chance to explore and learn the history of these beautiful creatures and also about Prison Island itself. You will be with our expert local tour guide who will be explaining each area of interest. Apart from being a place where you can go to see the Giant Tortoises, it also is a perfect destination to do swimming, & Relaxing on the beach. Therefore after all information about the Island, then you will have time for swimming & relaxing on the beach. which lasts till now.

My family did love this trip, we had an amazing time at both places, Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbar. Also the lunch at Nakupenda was great combinations of seafoods, if you will have Snorkeling mask, please bring it as there is a little reef where you can snorkel and enjoy the beauty of underwater.
There was a change in our tour guide at the last minute and Abuu arrived at our hotel for pickup at 9:30 AM. It was raining in Stone Town that morning and he asked if we wanted to wait. But we forged ahead to the docks and waited briefly for the food and fuel to be loaded on the boat. As soon as we left the harbor, the rain stopped and Abuu started telling us about all the islands in the area. Even though he was very young, Abu knew a lot about Prison Island and took us to see a lot of big tortoises! But the highlight of the trip was Nakupenda Sandbank. By that time, the sun came out, we took amazing photos, and swam in the clear blue water. After an hour, we were invited to a seafood feast. The lobster, prawns, and octopus were excellent; and so were the chips (fries)! We stuffed ourselves so full that we didn't even get to the fruit platter. Then the rains came back in at 3 PM and they took us back a little early to Stone Town. Sultan Tours really came through this time -- we highly suggest their services when booking this tour
