Das Gebiet, das Lecce vom Meer trennt, beweist die Schönheit der Landschaft des Salento und bewahrt immer noch die Spuren der wichtigen Rolle, die dieses Gebiet in der Geschichte spielte. Von Lecce aus fahren wir über Nebenstraßen nach Südosten und erreichen das befestigte Dorf Acaya, eine messapische Stätte, wo Sie die majestätische mittelalterliche Burg, die Mauern des Dorfes und seinen alten Stadtplan bewundern können, der noch erhalten ist. Dann geht es weiter zum WWF Naturpark „Le Cesine“, in dem sich viele schöne Pflanzen und Wasservögel verbergen. So erfrischen wir uns mit einem schönen Bad in Torre Specchia und radeln zurück nach Lecce durch eine Landschaft voller Olivenbäume und kleiner Dörfer

Reiseverlauf
Wir fahren an der mittelalterlichen Stadt Acaya vorbei und werfen einen Blick auf die Burg und ihre Verteidigungsmauer. Wir machen auf dem Hauptplatz eine Pause für "Caffé leccese" (Kaffee mit Eis und Mandelsirup).
Wir radeln durch dieses gut erhaltene Naturschutzgebiet - wo Sie vom Geruch von Eukalyptus und anderen Autocton-Pflanzen / Bäumen berauscht werden.
Wenn das Wetter gut ist, machen wir hier eine Badepause, um uns in den heißesten Stunden zu erholen und das Sandwich zu essen, das wir normalerweise in Acaya kaufen.
Zurück auf dem Weg durch einige kleine Dörfer wie Vanze und Strudà, wo wir eine Pause machen können. Wenn wir durch einige Landstraßen fahren, sehen wir Olivenbäume, erkennbar an ihrer Größe und an den Baumstämmen, wahre Kunstwerke der Natur. Wir werden zwischen den Kampagnen durch Seitenstraßen nach Lecce zurückkehren.

We were in Salento with friends in May 2025 and booked the tour Lecce-Otranto-Gallipoli-Lecce with Salento Bici Tour. 1 week of great weather, beautiful landscapes, good hotels and good atmosphere among the international participants. The booking, the communication, the electric bikes, the shuttle to Brindisi airport, everything perfect. We can recommend Salento Bici Tour!

when you meet special people by accident! I would call the experience with Carlo and his collaborators this. People passionate about their work, their land and meeting others. We agreed before our arrival in Puglia various trips and experiences (bicycles, kayaks, aperitifs, sailing, beach, etc.) because we were a large group with lively kids! Carlo's team satisfied us fully, giving a special flavor to this trip, like the figs tasted along the rides! If lying in the sun is not enough... I absolutely recommend it!

We did the tour with Giulia. It was just fantastic! A mix of culture, landscape and sympathy. I did the self guided tour. Good bike,well prepared and GPS worked really good. A nice route through Lecce city, the small vilages south of Lecce, the olive groves and to the see. Although, the olive groves are what is left of it, this because all the olive trees are dead caused by the bacteria.

Preparation, correctness and beauty of the places. We were able to reach the nature reserve along roads away from traffic and surrounded by nature. The visit was very nice with trained guides and refreshment attentive to my Food needs.
It was a perfect day to bike. Our inspiring guide Melo appeared to be an expert in nature and food. After a long ride in the suburbs of Lecce and the Cesine parc , we enjoyed a fantastic Picnic on the beach where Melo , chef in natural food, served us local dishes and great stories.
Cube woman bike and Scott.man bike. Scott was brand new. Both excellent quality, also for off road. We went to San Foca, some parts off road. Very nice lady giving advice. I would go there again.
