Aserbaidschanische Historiker haben Dokumente in russischen Archiven gefunden, die bestätigen, dass 1846 auf dem Bibi-Heybat-Feld in der Nähe von Baku eine Ölquelle gebohrt wurde. Diese Bohrung kann somit als die erste der Welt angesehen werden, da sie 13 Jahre vor Beginn der kommerziellen Ölförderung in den USA entstand.
Bibi-Heybet (Tante des Hecks) ist ein „Pir“ in der Nähe der Berge von Baku inmitten eines riesigen Friedhofs. Das Grab von Bibi-Heybet, einem der Verwandten des Propheten Muhammad, befindet sich in einer riesigen Moschee, die von Muslimen sehr gerne besucht wird. Bibi-Heybet ist berühmt für ihre wundersame Kraft, Kranke zu heilen. Viele der Muslime hinterlassen ihr Vermächtnis, in der Nähe dieser Moschee begraben zu werden.
Ein Schlammvulkan ist eine geologische Formation, die aus einem Loch oder einer Vertiefung in der Erdoberfläche oder einer kegelförmigen Erhebung mit einem Krater besteht, aus der Schlamm und Gase kontinuierlich oder periodisch ausbrechen. Dieser Vulkantyp kommt hauptsächlich in ölhaltigen und vulkanischen Gebieten vor.
Gobustan ist eines der berühmtesten historischen und archäologischen Reservate der Welt, ein Freilichtmuseum mit einer riesigen Sammlung unschätzbarer historischer Artefakte
„Ateshgah“-Feueranbetertempel – die ersten Bauten des Ateshgah-Tempels stammen aus dem zweiten und dritten Jahrhundert. Zu dieser Zeit breitete sich der Zoroastrismus in Aserbaidschan aus und es wurde begonnen, in den Regionen zoroastrische Tempel zu bauen. Der Ateshgah-Tempel in Surakhani funktionierte bis zum 7. Jahrhundert. Es ist bekannt, dass der Islam in Aserbaidschan im 7. Jahrhundert angenommen wurde.
Yanardag ist eine der erstaunlichsten Naturattraktionen der Absheron-Halbinsel. Es ist ein flammender Berghang, der nicht durch Regen oder Sand gelöscht werden kann und seit mehreren Jahrtausenden brennt. Die beängstigende, aber faszinierende Feuerlandschaft ist eigentlich ganz einfach zu erklären: Aus den oberen Erdschichten wird Erdgas freigesetzt, das sich bei Kontakt mit Sauerstoff in Flammen auflöst.

We booked this tour through Booking. We managed to see everything planned in the proposal, thanks also to our guide Riad, who also gave us tips on other activities to do in Baku. The traditional lunch is worth highlighting; excellent!
This day tour is a classic, well-established product, with everything proceeding smoothly. The driver and guide were very responsible. The guide, in particular, was very experienced and spoke fluent English. The attractions are all located around Baku and are quite small. After returning to Baku around 4 PM, there was still time to visit other places that day, such as the Old City or the Highland Park.
If you are going to Baku, this excursion is a must. Sabina, our Tour Guide, who is fluent in Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijan, and English is very passionate and well educated about the history of this country. She is a foodie too.... so be ready to ask her questions on traditions, food, history, and city recommendations... she knows it all! You will get to see many things and get a keen understanding of what makes Baku....BAKU! I enjoyed it and this is an absolute must for anyone traveling to Azerbaijan
We had a great experience on this tour and thoroughly enjoyed visiting all the sites, especially Gobustan, Ateshgah Fire Temple, and Yanar Dag. A special thank you to our guide, Riad, who was exceptionally kind, professional, and informative throughout the day. He explained everything in great detail and was able to communicate both in English and Russian, which was very helpful for all guests. His knowledge of Azerbaijan’s history, culture, and traditions made the tour even more interesting. We were also very satisfied with the lunch included in the tour. The restaurant was very nice, and we even had the opportunity to try some local dishes that we had never tasted before. This one-day tour of the highlights of Baku's surroundings will give you a limited time to look around efficiently and is recommended for anyone travelling in Baku. Of course, the content was very satisfying 😃 I felt this tour was the best in the world because it seemed like it was going to be more laborious and expensive to try to do everything the same on my own. By the way, the meeting place seemed to have been originally decided, and I thought it would be inconvenient from the hotel where I was staying, but I proceeded with the application, and it was said that I would only be picked up by the hotel on the outbound route, so I actually received a confirmation message the night before, and I was relieved to be picked up on the morning of the day.
Riad is a nice and very kind guy, Well educated on history and geography with a smile always on his happy face. Willing to assist and with a great sense of humour. However the whole excursion is extremely expensive regarding what it offers. Especially when we are talking about a group excursion. Not to mention the bad condition of the car. Too much money for too little to offer.
