Gambia nach Senegal Tour mit Fährüberfahrt und Safari Park

We used this tour company during our stay in The Gambia and had an excellent experience from start to finish. We corresponded with Babou before booking, and he was incredibly helpful, answering all of our questions and explaining everything in detail. Our first excursion was to Kunta Kinteh Island. Our guide, Dembe (or Dembo), arrived promptly at our hotel at the agreed time. He was a lovely, friendly man who made the journey enjoyable from the outset. As we travelled to the ferry port, he shared fascinating insights into Gambian history and pointed out various landmarks along the way. After taking the ferry across the river, we visited the museum and met our guide for the Kunta Kinteh tour, Dudu. The tour itself was incredibly moving and educational. Thanks to Dudu’s knowledge and passion, we learned so much about the history of the island and the transatlantic slave trade. It was an emotional experience that left a lasting impression on us. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch before making our way back. We were so impressed with Maca Jobe Kunda Tours that we immediately booked a second excursion – the Senegal safari. This time, Babou himself was our guide. Just like his colleague, he arrived early to collect us from our hotel and kept us entertained with interesting facts about The Gambia during the journey. He had also thoughtfully provided water and soft drinks for us. Crossing the border into Senegal was a seamless process, and before long we were on safari. We were fortunate enough to see all of the animals that visitors hope to encounter. Highlights included endangered antelopes, monkeys, lions, a rhinoceros, giraffes, and even some impressively large spiders! The safari was truly unforgettable and exceeded all of our expectations. On the return journey, we stopped for another lovely lunch before heading back to our hotel. Both tours were exceptionally well organised, informative, and great value for money. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing their country and its history. I would not hesitate to use Maca Jobe Kunda Tours again and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting The Gambia.

You must have done this trip. The four of us were escorted by Baboucar. He has told us a lot and shown us. All well arranged. Without an escort, this trip is, in our opinion, impossible.

I did the Senegal safari on my own and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information, which made the experience even more special. He really looked out for me and made sure I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. He also took me to a really good local food spot, which was a highlight. The trip was very relaxed, not rushed at all, and had a peaceful atmosphere. As he was a private guide, I would definitely recommend this experience for both solo travellers and groups

What a beautiful day with a lot of impressions. Picked up in our hotel at 6.30am, took the ferry and arrived at the safari around 10.30am. After the Safari you will eat locally, very tasty and then you will return to Gambia. The border crossing to Senegal and Ferry is really organized chaos but you are in good hands with your guide. We already had a very nice day with our guide Jurunku.

Incredible experience. Great guide. Excellent safari topped off by the lion walk (extra cost). Ferry crossing was an eye opener. Amazing to watch the goods ships being unloaded.

Nice to experience the ferry experience, on the way to safari in Senegal. Old Dutch ferries that still serve here. A fine local guide, very friendly. Arranged everything perfectly.

What can I say. Once you've done this trip, you won't need to go anywhere else in Gambia. The whole trip from being picked up at the hotel to being dropped off was an experience, not for the faint hearted. Once being picked up you drive to the Ferry to cross to the north bank, the bus drops you off and you walk a short distance to the ferry. The ferry is small and old, they try to pack as many cars and trucks on as possible, your walking inbetween these so be careful. The tourists are let on first then general admission begins....you need to video that!. Hundreds of people run to get on, even when they lift they close people are still jumping to try and get on. Takes ages to get to the north bank because it's so slow and old. Eventually you get off and have to walk through a market to get the next bus. Just keep walking, don't stop, don't make eye contact and you'll be ok. Once on the bus, don't open the windows, kids are banging on the glass holding their hands up. I was told they just want sweets but I'm not sure. You then drive to the gambian boarder patrol, you get your passport stamped. The get into Senegal you need to have a Yellow Fever Card. I you don't have one, give the tour guide some cash, about £16. He will go behind a market, change it into Senegal money. Walk a short distance to the Senegal boarder, hand in your passport, if you don't have a yelloe fever card they keep your passport until the money is paid. usually about 5 minutes. The guide hands back you passport. Get back on the bus and drive about 10 minutes to the Reserve. We had an amazing time at the Reserve, our guide was very good and could spot the animals a mile off. We got to see Kevin the white rhino, zebra, many kinds of antelope. and the giraffe family who at the time had 2 week old babies. Worth going just for that. 2 hours then your taken for lunch, pizza, which was also gorgeous. Too much for me, what you don't eat will be given to the shop staff as long as it does not have meat on. Then the journey back. It's chaotic, dusty, scary at times, although I'm sure I was quite safe. The whole day was experience I wouldn't have changed for the world, the good, the bad, the ugly....it will be a lasting memory.

Did the safari with my parents and we were all super happy. It is definitely a tiring experience, you have an hour to the port, waiting for the ferry because there are no timeslots, then an hour long ferry, then another car ride to the border, which also takes a lot of time, just to have on hour in the park, and then the whole thing backwards but it is worth it! The park is not too big and maybe not the most ‘Wild, experience because they feed the animals and somehow know where to find them but still nice to see them in and wild! The guide is nice and well organised! You have lunch in a local restaurant as well!

My parents and I had an absolutely amazing time on this safari tour from The Gambia to Senegal. I honestly can’t recommend it enough! We were picked up directly from our hotel and taken to the ferry, which was a great experience in itself. We were lucky enough to see dolphins on the crossing. The tourists were given priority boarding, which made the process smooth and stress-free. Once we arrived on the other side, we transferred into a 4x4 vehicle for the drive to the border. It was wonderful to see more of the surrounding countryside, and the border crossing was straightforward and well-organised. From there, we continued on to the safari the highlight of the day! We saw an incredible range of animals, and it truly felt like an authentic safari experience, especially as we went properly off-road in search of wildlife. On the way back, we enjoyed a lovely lunch. It’s definitely a long day, but absolutely worth it for such a memorable experience. Everyone was so helpful and lovely was a brilliant experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

Baboucarr and his drivers were excellent. He was on time and informative. Very attentive on ferry and border crossings. I would totally recommend.
