Gallipoli und sein Landesinneres bewahren noch Spuren des Reichtums, den der Lampenölhandel über Jahrhunderte erwirtschaftete. Zuerst Halt in Alezio für eine Verkostung in einer Käserei, dann geht es weiter nach Tuglie zum erstaunlichen Radiomuseum (alle Gegenstände, einschließlich Telegraphen, sind noch in Ordnung!) oder zum Museum für ländliches Leben. Zurück in Richtung Küste, im Porto Selvaggio Naturschutzgebiet genießen wir ein Picknick-Mittagessen (nicht inbegriffen) im Schatten des Pinienwaldes und, für diejenigen, die Lust haben, ein erfrischendes Bad im kühlen Quellwasser. Auf dem Rückweg nach Gallipoli halten wir in Santa Caterina an, um eines der besten Eissorten der Region zu probieren (sie sind spezialisiert auf „salzige Pistazien“, „Mandeln und Feigen“ und „Schokoladecreme“). Wir kommen bei Sonnenuntergang in Gallipoli an.

Wir beginnen hier und enden hier. Gallipoli ist eine Fischerstadt, die dank des Exports von Olivenöl, das im Mittelalter nicht zu Lebensmittelzwecken, sondern aus einem anderen Grund verkauft wurde, seinen Ruhm hatte. Wir werden Sie herausfinden lassen, welches!
Wir werden in diesem kleinen Dorf Halt machen, um die unterirdische Olivenmühle aus dem 17. Jahrhundert zu besuchen.
Auf Nebenstraßen, zwischen Olivenbäumen und lokalen Trockensteinkonstruktionen (Trulli und Pyjare) erreichen wir Galatone mit seiner imposanten normannischen Burg, der Kruzifixkirche - Meisterwerk des Leccese-Barockstils - und dem edlen Palast.
Porto Selvaggio ist ein gut erhaltener Naturpark mit klarem Wasser, in den man nicht hineinspringen kann! Es gibt Quellen, aus denen sich Quellwasser mit dem Meerwasser vermischt. Wir machen eine Pause zum Schwimmen und eine Mittagspause.

Beautiful experience, distances too long for me as I am not athletic.

Excellent six days' cycling from Lecce with a circular inland and along coast to Gallipoli. GPS navigation very good and lots of opportunities to experience the culture of Puglia as well as take a rest over lunch or enjoy a swim. We are both over seventy ,and though challenging at times , with reasonable level of fitness, we managed the average of 40 miles approx cycling per day . Accommodation throughout was excellent, attentive hosts on hand, plus an excellent briefing before we set out. Salento Bici Tours provided excellent bikes, advice and support throughout our trip.

Unforgettable day with a group of friends for my bachelor party. We wanted to do some activities rather than the usual relaxation by the sea and couldn't have a better idea. The tour is very easy, all flat and most of the time spread over almost deserted roads. The bikes were brand new and kept very well, comfortable even the bags available to put inside any object. The guide Giulia is fantastic, very nice, connoisseur of the place and attentive manager of the group. The stop at the DonnAnna estate will remain in my heart forever, I expected something "commercial" for the average tourist instead I had to change my mind and we all enjoyed an incredible Processing from morning until evening
