Von Ponta Delgada folgt man der Südküste der Insel. Unterwegs halten Sie am Aussichtspunkt der Insel Vila Franca do Campo - der ersten Hauptstadt der Insel - und besichtigen dann die Fabrik der berühmten Queijadas da Vila, ein typisches Bonbon des Klosters, in dem Sie dieses Bonbon kosten können (optional).
Wenn Sie im Furnas Valley ankommen, können Sie ein Thermalbad in der Poona da Dona Beija oder im Parque Terra Nostra genießen (Eintritt nicht inbegriffen). Auf dem Weg zur romantischen Furnas Lagune können Sie am "Backen von Furnas" teilnehmen, das zum Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant serviert wird. Nach dem Mittagessen besuchen Sie den Kesselbereich mit Fumarolen und Thermal- und Mineralwasserquellen, wo Sie zu Ihrem Test gehen. Aufstieg zum Aussichtspunkt Pico do Ferro, von dem Sie einen herrlichen Blick über den Krater haben, der das Furnas-Tal umgibt.
Fahren Sie vom Furnas-Tal aus weiter entlang der Nordküste und besuchen Sie die Gorreana-Teefabrik, die einzige ihrer Art in Europa. Von hier aus können Sie die herrliche Aussicht auf die Teeplantage und die Nordküste bei einer Tasse Tee genießen. Nach der Rückkehr nach Ponta Delgada halten Sie am Aussichtspunkt Santa Iria mit einer idyllischen Aussicht auf die Nordküste der Insel. Anschließend kehren Sie nach Ponta Delgada zurück, wo Sie in den jeweiligen Unterkünften absteigen.

This was such a full and fantastic experience!! We did the following: - coastal sightseeing - visited oldest/only active tea plantation in Europe, took tour and drank tea - saw Lagoa das Furnas (created by volcano) - saw food cooked underground from active volcano heat - ate said food - want to geysers from volcano and tasted different levels of Sulphur water - went to botanical gardens where we ate some flowers - visited old Cathedral - went to pineapple plantation where the pineapples tasted amazing Highly recommend this tour. It's a lot and you'll be exhausted but it's worth it.

Amazing experience. Vasco is a great professional who taught us the most beautiful places on the island, we ate in good restaurants where they made an exquisite meal. He treated us like we were family, he told us very interesting stories of San Miguel. If we return to Azores, repeat with Big Blue Adventures for sure!!!

The two of us went on an all day tour to Furnas on Monday July 21, 2025. This tour was made very special and delightful by our driver and expert Island tour guide Vasco. I have been on many tours all over the world. This was one of the best tours that I have been on because of Vasco's kindness, expert knowledge, and his attention to detail. This was our first excursion upon landing in Sao Miguel, and it did not disappoint! Our tour guide, Vasco Pimental, was well-educated on the island facts and willing to entertain and answer all our questions about the Azorean culture. The tour was a mix of interesting and unique sites and local food. We especially enjoyed our delicious Cozido lunch at Vale das Furnas. We were initially worried that a day-long tour would be too long, but the day flew by. We would highly recommend this tour and Vasco in particular. Furnas is a must-see for anyone traveling to Sao Miguel.
The weather was great, our guide was super friendly and gave insights on locations and the day went by with absolute joy. This was a great family memory. Thank you, Miguel!:)

Manuel was an amazing and knowledgeable guide that showed us a great time on this tour! He picked us up in Ponta Delgada and then we went to the Cha Gorreana tea plantation and Furnas. My girlfriend and I were looking for an engaging excursion with lunch (the local stew) from the Fumaroles in Furnas. We loved the tour and the food! Manuel was so helpful, as he also gave us dinner recommendations for that night and even took us to the airport a ew days later!
We are a couple from Lisbon. Never been before to Azores. We stayed on VIP Executive Hotel in São Miguel island between 16th and 19th of January. Rest of the islands, get to know them later perhaps. We definitely recommend Big Blue Adventures as they seem to have large experience on this field. We recommend their services as they came in with a lot of details about the surrounding areas among some history facts that otherwise if we were solo, we wouldn't get to know them. And yes, these are interesting facts that makes your experience and their services entirely legit. Adds some sort of boost to your whole travel experience and takes it to a next level. If we can put it this way. Services we went for: Half Day Sete Cidades Tour / Full Day Furnas Tour / Full Day Nordeste Tour. Some of these services were acquired on a promotional package and for that purpose names might differ a little bit. You keep up Big Blue Adventures and a great hug for André for all his dedication and patience with us.
