Ganztägige Somontano-Weinexkursion und Besuch von Alquezar

Our guide, Marta, was perfect—friendly, kind, punctual, knowledgeable, and a safe driver. I had wanted to visit Alquézar ever since seeing Casa Pardina Restaurante featured on a Japanese TV program for Spanish learners; I found this tour, but I was truly surprised to discover that lunch at Casa Pardina was actually included. Marta loved my story and introduced me to Ana—the chef who is also the mayor of Alquézar—and Ana was delighted to meet me, which made me so happy. It was a dream tour that perfectly satisfied my interests in language, history, and cuisine. I want to visit Alquézar and Zaragoza again—and see Marta and Ana again, too! Part of me wants to keep this tour a secret, but since reading other people's reviews gave me the confidence to book it myself, I decided to write this review!

It was a great experience from start to finish, and she was knowledgeable about the local history. We enjoyed it immensely.

This was such a fun trip! The wine tour was great, a very scenic place and some great photo ops. Going to Alquezar was very special. The old town brings so much charm and beauty. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Absolutely give this tour a go.

Our guide Marta, was delightful, punctual, very knowledgeable, very safe driver, very attentive to our needs. The day was very well planned out, thoroughly enjoyable! This was a private tour and we were picked up at our hotel on time in a very comfortable sedan. During the drive to the Somontano area, Marta was very responsive to our questions and provided great enhancements on the history, geography and personality of the region and our specific visit areas. The winery tour was excellent with some unique “wine nose” testing- fun experience- , a well crafted bodega tour, and a very nice tasting session. Was the wine OK?? The answer is “Yes.” We left the bodega with extra “baggage.” The Alquezar experience was spectacular! A good bit of a hike, but worth every step. Again, Marta provided wonderful historical insight on the Alquezar. One must see it to believe its location and personality. So worth the effort along with a beautiful lunch with view to round out the day prior to heading back to our hotel drop off in Zaragoza. All in all a beautiful highlight day in our visit to Spain!

Marta is very knowledgeable and was flexible with some physical limitations of mine. She is a great conversationalist.

We really enjoyed the Somontano wine experience and learnt so much about wine production and the region. Alquezar was amazing. A unique historical town and lunch was the best we have had in Spain. We thoroughly recommend this trip.

Wonderful experience lived every year during the month of August. Tapas, wines, shows, and fun in Barbastro. To enjoy 4 summer nights, enjoying the best wines of the DO Somontano and luxury shows at the Congress and Exhibition Center of the Aragonese city.

Our Somontano Wine Excursion and Alquezar day trip was the second of two private day trips with this company, both with Marta. The one winery visit was really enjoyable and the guide there was really fun and knowledgeable despite her youth. Alquezar was breathtaking and the lunch there truly memorable. Marta is a delight and we felt like we were on an fun adventure with a trusted friend. There is more to do and see in and around Zaragoza than you might think and you should do them with these folks.

Unmissable buildings such as the SEO (Cathedral), the Basilica del Pilar, the many museums, the Palace of Aljaferia (fortress with Mudejar accents), the Roman ruins, the Pilar Square, the "Tubo" district, in the casco viejo where you can feast in tapas bars (tapas and rationes from another world because excellent and inexpensive), its gastronomy in general (Argonese specialities and wines). Everything is to be discovered.

Jorge and Pablo led us into the unknown. We learned how to make wine while looking at the vineyards and then were taught wine tasting. Alquezar is an old town where time seems to have stopped, and we had a wonderful time there. It was the best trip we have ever had.
