Der heilige Gerasimos ist der Schutzpatron der Insel und seine Reliquien werden in der kleineren Kirche des Klosters in einem silbernen Sarkophag aufbewahrt, der während des Gottesdienstes geöffnet wird, damit die Gemeinde seine Füße küssen kann. Das Kloster liegt im Omala-Tal und hat einen herrlichen Glockenturm im für die Ionischen Inseln typischen Baustil. Ein kleines Loch im Kirchenboden führt hinunter zu einer unterirdischen Kammer, in der der Heilige als Einsiedler lebte.

Drogarati ist eine beeindruckende, etwa 150 Millionen Jahre alte Höhle mit bemerkenswerten Formationen von Stalaktiten und Stalagmiten. Es ist ein seltenes geologisches Phänomen. Die Höhle ist etwa 60 m tief und hat eine konstante Temperatur von 18ΊC. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit der Höhle erreicht 90%.

Dimitrious is a great guide, who showed us the best bits of Kefalonia.
If you want a comprehensive tour of the island then look no further than Kefalonia Tours. Dimitris listened to our wishes and sent his driver Panos to pick us up at our chosen location.Panos was absolutely brilliant.He was a careful and considerate driver who didn’t rush us during the day..he discussed what we wanted to visit when he picked us up and together we established an itinerary.He showed us the best photo spots and recommended restaurants.Panos is extremely knowledgeable about his island and so enthusiastic about sharing the history around it.An absolute gem of a person! I would 100% recommend the day tour to anyone who comes to visit. A 5* experience!
We had an amazing day with Dimitris. He picked us up from exactly where we had planned at the time we had planned and then whisked us off to see all the fabulous sights of the island. He consulted us at every step about what we did or did not want to see and advised in the order. Using his local information to know when the best time to view certain things were to avoid large queues. During the journeys to and from places he would give us a run down on the history of the places and fascinating facts - he seems to know absolutely everything there is to know about the island even dealing with my youngest’s random questions with ease. He is also quite the photographer and will take as many photos of you in the beautiful scenic locations as needed. Plenty of ice cold water available which was super appreciated after walking in the heat for a while. He even recommended places to eat and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately our youngest became car sick during the journey (Not Dimitiris fault she’s just fell victim to Kefalonias roads) but Dimitiris handled this well. Seating her up front with plenty of air con and taking the roads carefully. Honestly a fantastic day was had by all of us both old and young. Would hire Dimitris again in a heartbeat.
Very enjoyable and knowledgeable driver. Panos made the Kefalonian experience worth while. We were able to see the different hidden gems of the island, and this entire tour I would highly recommend.
We had the best day out yesterday with Dimitris, we saw everything we wanted to in a full day tour, nothing was too much trouble and he tailor made the whole day to suit our needs. Dimitris was very friendly and knowledgeable telling us all about the island and took us to a beautiful beach to swim which we would never have known about without him. We saw all the best bits with no hasstle and at our own time and pace. He recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch where we had a table right on the sea edge with lovely food and great value. Nothing was too much trouble and if you want to see the island best bits in one day without getting on a huge coach with lots of other tourists then book this! Worth every penny!

We had a fabulous day with our Guide Dimitri. Highly recommend this full day tour. We saw the sights and highlights of the island plus had an incredible lunch and time to swim. Dimitri gave us history and insights to the island all while making sure the day was tailored to what we wanted to see and do. Book this tour, you won’t regret it!
Our experience was amazing we had a fantastic day visit the island
Lack of clarity on booking meant that we had to pay extra to be picked up from Fiskardo, despite entering our address. Expected our identified places to visit might have been included in the price (Melissani & Drogerati caves). They were not expensive but be aware you are only paying for the driver! However, a great way to learn more about the island with a local and to be able to actually take in the scenery (as otherwise I am the driver). Panos made excellent suggestions but was flexible, and we visited places we would not have known about. St Gerasimos monastery is a must. Olive oil tasting was also a highlight. Overall

However, we were happy to make an exception and arrange your pick-up for a small supplement, as we wanted you to enjoy the experience without having to travel elsewhere to meet us.
