Flughafen - Venedig Wasserbus Ticket

We booked the Alilaguna water taxi to take us from the airport to the area we were staying in Venice (by Piazza San Marco). My partner had researched it extensively before we arrived and was pretty sure we got off at their stop Giardinetti stop. However when he tried to confirm on the taxi where we should get off they said to get off at the third stop Ospedale so we did. That started the almost impossible trek to our hotel which was a very very long ways away by Piazzaz San Marco. We hauled our suitcases up and down so many bridge stairs and went down countless "back alleys". It was largely a very quiet area of Venice so really nobody to ask at first. We are 70 and 71 years old but very able bodied so we managed until our phones died roughly an hour after our journey started. By the time our phones died we were in the busier part of Venice and found a restaurant to rest, eat and recharge our phone. It was a very bad start to our Venice journey. Maybe we made a rookie mistake by not clarifying at the ticket office where to get off so my caution to anyone travelling with Alilaguna is to ensure you know the closest stop to your hotel before boarding the water taxi.

We had booked tickets on line, but unfortunately the water taxi didn't go all the way to our hotel, had asked at the ticket desk & getting on the taxi & all was good. About an hour into trip taxi crew told us not going any further, we had to get off & change to another route which took another 30mins.

Returned our rental car at Marco Polo airport, walked about 10 minutes to the boat dock, paid €18 per person and boarded the ferry/taxi immediately for Venice, and the employees loaded and then offloaded our luggage. We disembarked at the second stop and boat ride was about 20 minutes. It was easy, convenient and reasonably priced.

The ride took just over an hour but we used it as an opportunity to get lay of the land and took so many photos!

The employees are condescending jerks. You ask a question and they answer you like you're an idiot. Unfortunately I have a round trip with them but under no circumstances anyone should use them.

Bought tickets for a specific date and time to rode from Venice to Marco Polo Airport for a flight. Thank goodness we opted for an earlier than we needed (or so we thought) boat. When the boat arrived at our specified time, they pulled up briefly to say the boat was full and another had been called. Fifteen minutes later the second boat pulled up; it too was full. Passengers at our stop were starting to panic. Eventually (30 minutes later) the next scheduled boat pulled up and a very few people managed to muscle their way on, us included, but the majority of passengers (and there were many by this time, building up from two scheduled departure times) were left behind. Operators totally unconcerned. Inexcusable; Alilaguna knows the capacity of their boats and how many tickets they have sold in advance. They were selling at least four times as many tickets as they had actual spaces for. I can’t imagine how many people must miss their flights due to this operation. Highly recommend taking a bus instead.

Friendly and helpful staff made it easy for us as travelers It was nice boat ride even though rained.

Purchasing the water taxi “vouchers” and finding the port was the easiest part. However, when you book through Viator, they don’t provide nearly enough information for you to understand which boat to take and thus which port to get off at. Thank god the receptionist was able to tell my family and I which line to join and which port to get off at.

Was very easy at the Airport to find where to get the water taxi - very well signed. Best way to get to Venice. All of us enjoyed the relaxing trip.
