Reiseverlauf

Our guide, Elena, was very friendly and informative about the old traditions of Florence. She made the entire tour something to share with all your friends
We had Elena as our guide and she was fantastic! We loved the country side roads of Tuscany. The lunch was amazing and had a great view. The tour was very informative and gave us a different perspective of Florence. Thanks to Elena we had a wonderful time!
Thanks so much for the lovely review! We're really happy to hear you had such a great time. Our goal is to make it easy, fun, and memorable — so it means a lot to know you enjoyed the experience. We’d love to have you join us again whenever you’re back in the area. Safe travels and thanks again for choosing Walkabout Tours!
lovely experience riding a vespa in the countryside. it was actually pretty hard to pass the driving test at the beginning (you only get 2 chances and the first time you try will be the very first time you’re on the Vespa). only 2 out of like 15-20 drivers in our group passed. but if you don’t pass, they give you a Topolino instead so you can still participate. my partner happened to pass the test and it was a lovely experience riding around the countryside. honestly I’m glad there was a high bar for the test because the roads we drove on later on were narrow and windy so better safe than sorry.
Highlight of the trip! Great thanks to Gabriele and the entire team. I wish I could remember the name of the other gentleman who guided us as well. They were an incredibly accommodating and welcoming team, even taking the time to remember all our names to personally address us during the day. Very informed guides as well.

We had an amazing experience during the Vespa tour. Chris (our guide) was such a nice guy, who told everything with passion and made sure you felt welcome. He also made sure to take all time to answer your questions. I highly recommend this vespa tour during your time in Florence!
This was one of the most fun experiences we had in Tuscany! Driving through the rolling Tuscan countryside was absolutely breathtaking, and the scenery alone made this excursion worth it. One thing to know before booking is that it takes a while before you actually start driving. We met at the Florence train station between the taxi stand and McDonald’s, then walked about 10 minutes to the bus station before taking a shuttle to the garage. I’m not sure why the meeting point wasn’t simply the bus station, especially given the summer heat. Once at the garage, we met our guide, Chris, who did an excellent job explaining everything. Everyone had the opportunity to test drive a Vespa to make sure they were comfortable handling it since they’re heavier than they look and take a little practice. If you don’t feel confident riding a Vespa, they also offer the option of driving a Fiat 500. My husband and I chose the Fiat while our son rode a Vespa, and it worked out perfectly. By the time everyone selected helmets, completed the safety briefing, and finished their test rides, we were about two hours into the experience before heading out. Once we reached the countryside, though, it was absolutely worth the wait. The roads are very narrow, so be prepared if you’re driving a Fiat, but the views of the vineyards and rolling hills are unforgettable. The tour ended at a beautiful Tuscan estate where we enjoyed delicious fresh pasta, a charcuterie board, and Chianti wine. The estate also offers cooking classes, and it was fun watching one of the classes while we enjoyed our meal. Chris was a fantastic guide, sharing interesting information along the way and stopping at scenic viewpoints so everyone could take photos. At the end of the tour, the shuttle returned us to the bus station, so keep in mind you’ll need to make your own way back to the train station if that’s where you’re headed. Overall, this was a memorable experience and a wonderful way to see the Tuscan countryside. If you don’t mind a slower start to the day, you’ll be rewarded with incredible scenery, great food and wine, and a unique adventure.
Gabriele and Alex were amazing guides. Beautiful tour around the country side of Florence. Gabriele was telling us interesting things about each stop. Then we sat with q beautiful view and ate delicious local food and wine. I would do this tour again next time.

Area traveled was pretty. However, tour guide was rude & appeared annoyed when each person in our group was completing their test drive on the Vespa. Only one person in tour group passed Vespa test drive. Everyone ended up in a fiat (not the classic ones in picture). We felt your guide should have been more patient when giving her instructions for using a Vespa & while each person was completing their test drive. We have been on several Viator tours & this was first time we had terrible guide. We could have booked a fiat car on our own for much cheaper and probably avoided having to deal with a nasty attitude as a paying customer.
This was our favorite part of Italy! Amazing experience! Fantastic guide!
