Weiterfahrt nach Florenz, der legendären Stadt der Künstler und Architekten vom 14. bis 17. Jahrhundert. Machen Sie eine Mittagspause. Um 14:30 Uhr treffen Sie sich mit dem Reiseleiter für einen Rundgang durch Florenz. Das Baptisterium St. Johannes in Pisa (italienisch: Battistero di San Giovanni) ist ein römisch-katholisches Kirchengebäude in Pisa, Italien. Der Bau begann im Jahr 1152, um ein älteres Baptisterium zu ersetzen, und als es 1363 fertiggestellt wurde, war es das zweite Gebäude in chronologischer Reihenfolge auf der Piazza dei Miracoli. Der Dom von Pisa ist eine mittelalterliche römisch-katholische Kathedrale, die der Himmelfahrt der Jungfrau Maria gewidmet ist, auf der Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italien. Es ist ein bemerkenswertes Beispiel romanischer Architektur, insbesondere des Stils, der als Pisaner Romanik bekannt ist

Die Kathedrale Santa Maria del Fiore (Besichtigung von außen) mit ihrer wunderschönen, von Brunelleschi entworfenen Kuppel ist die Kathedrale von Florenz. Der Bau begann 1296 im gotischen Stil nach einem Entwurf von Arnolfo di Cambio und wurde 1436 baulich fertiggestellt, wobei die Kuppel von Filippo Brunelleschi entworfen wurde. Das Äußere der Basilika ist mit polychromen Marmorplatten in verschiedenen Grün- und Rosatönen verkleidet, die von Weiß eingefasst sind, und verfügt über eine kunstvolle neugotische Fassade aus dem 19. Jahrhundert von Emilio De Fabris.
Angrenzend an die Kathedrale Santa Maria del Fiore befindet sich der von Giotto entworfene Glockenturm (Besichtigung von außen). Giottos Glockenturm ist der majestätische Glockenturm der Kathedrale und eines der Meisterwerke der italienischen Gotik. Der Glockenturm hat eine quadratische Grundfläche von etwa 15 Metern pro Seite mit Eckverstärkungen, die bis zur horizontalen, auskragenden Krone in einer Höhe von 84,7 Metern reichen.
Das Baptisterium San Giovanni (Besichtigung von außen) befindet sich auf der Piazza Duomo vor der Kathedrale S. Maria del Fiore und ist eines der wichtigsten Denkmäler in Florenz. Der Ursprung des Denkmals ist nicht sicher. Es wird angenommen, dass es um das 4. bis 5. Jahrhundert n. Chr. auf den Ruinen eines antiken römischen Tempels errichtet wurde, der dem Gott Mars gewidmet war. Die erste Erwähnung stammt aus dem Jahr 897, als sie als Basilika bezeichnet wurde. Im Jahr 1128 wurde es offiziell zum Baptisterium der Stadt, wo der Taufritus stattfand. Das nach dem Schutzpatron der Stadt benannte Baptisterium zeichnet sich durch einen achteckigen Grundriss aus, der von einer Kuppel mit acht Segmenten bedeckt ist, die außen von einem Pyramidendach bedeckt ist. Das Äußere des Gebäudes ist mit weißem Carrara-Marmor und grünem Prato-Marmor verziert, charakteristisch für die florentinische romanische Architektur.
Seit dem 14. Jahrhundert ist die Piazza della Signoria das Zentrum des politischen Lebens von Florenz. Auf dem Platz fanden wichtige historische Ereignisse und große Triumphe statt, beispielsweise die Rückkehr der Medici im Jahr 1530. Die berühmten Skulpturen auf der Piazza della Signoria beziehen sich auf die politischen Ereignisse in Florenz. Der David (das Original befindet sich in der Accademia-Galerie) wurde von Michelangelo geschaffen und vor dem Palazzo Vecchio aufgestellt, um die Macht der Florentiner Republik im Gegensatz zur Tyrannei der Medici zu symbolisieren. Herkules und Cacus (1534) von Bandinelli symbolisieren stattdessen die physische Kraft der Familie.
Die Ponte Vecchio wurde in der Nähe einer Kreuzung aus der Römerzeit erbaut und war bis 1218 die einzige Brücke, die den Arno in Florenz überquerte. Oberhalb der Ponte Vecchio können Sie einen Teil des wunderschönen Vasari-Korridors sehen. Dieser 1565 von Giorgio Vasari erbaute Korridor verläuft direkt über den Goldschmiedewerkstätten, die sich derzeit auf beiden Seiten der Brücke befinden. Im Auftrag der Medici ermöglichte es ihnen, völlig sicher vom Palazzo Vecchio zum Palazzo Pitti zu gelangen, ohne die Straßen von Florenz überqueren zu müssen. Zur Zeit des Baus des Korridors befanden sich die Metzgereien auf der Ponte Vecchio, deren Aktivität wahrscheinlich den Durchgang der Medici störte, die sie 1593 verlegen ließen und durch die „dekorativeren“ Goldschmiedewerkstätten ersetzten.
Der Piazzale Michelangelo ist der eindrucksvollste Punkt von Florenz. Von hier aus können Sie die ganze Stadt mit ihren prächtigen Denkmälern bewundern. Malak was very knowledgeable and looked after us like family. It was a very hot day and both Malak and Ronerto were very flexible so we could make the most while staying cool at the same time. We had a fantastic tour with our guide Nariman and driver Roberto! The whole experience was top notch. After doing 2 large group tours, it was a real treat to do this small group one. There were only 4 of us, and that made a huge difference. JB and the driver picked us up from the hotel in a van. It was difficult to get in and out from the back seats and I think the van needed a better suspension as it was a really bumpy ride. We got dropped off at convenient locations and enjoyed everything.

Great tour of both Florence and Pisa. This tour gives you an overview of Florence (which you need 3 days for) and a visit to Pisa. Pisa was wonderful and our guide Agnes showed us the sites and explained everything. She also kept the vendors and others away. Lunch was great. Florence was beautiful. It is a long day but definitely worth it!
