Reiseverlauf

Our captain was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat was very comfortable for the 2 of us but would have been crowed with more people. It was a bit misleading to say you went to the fjords. We boated around a large circle outside the harbor. The captain was very accommodating and we were able to fish. My husband and I each caught a cod. Mine was small enough that the captain threw it back into the ocean to live another day! The fish chowder was very tasty and filling. I was expecting to be outside on the deck more, but it was cold and there was no seating on the deck. That left us w being inside the cabin. It was still beautiful, just not as we expected. We booked the boat ride in order to have an outside adventure. We are from a warm climate (Hawaii) and not accustomed to the colder weather so our expectations might not have been realistic! All in all, it was a nice way to spend the afternoon (3 hours) but it seemed pricey for what we got.
hank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re very glad to hear that you enjoyed the hospitality and knowledge of our captain, as well as the fishing experience — congratulations on catching cod! And we’re happy the fish chowder was a highlight of the trip. At the same time, we completely understand your comments regarding expectations about the fjords and spending time outside on deck. Weather conditions in Northern Norway can change quickly, and temperatures on the water are often colder than many visitors expect, especially for guests arriving from warmer climates like Hawaii. Our captain will always prioritize guest comfort and safety, which sometimes means spending more time inside the heated cabin when it is cold outside. Regarding the fjords, our route takes place in the fjord system surrounding Tromsø, but depending on weather, sea conditions, and fishing opportunities, the captain may adjust the route slightly to provide the best overall experience. Your feedback about outdoor seating is very valuable, and we will certainly take it into consideration as we continuously work to improve our guest experience. We’re very pleased to hear that overall you still had a beautiful afternoon on the water and that the fishing and scenery made the trip memorable. Thank you again for visiting us in Tromsø, and we hope that one day we may welcome you back to the Arctic for another adventure.
The whole experience was great. Per is a local, knows the areas. He has top gear in the yatch so you can fish at night. While we were watching his amazing homemade fish soup, we saw the northern lights. What a memorable night. Seeing the lights from the water is a better experience for the kids than chasing by car for 5 hours.
Super Thanks for feedback Best Regarding Kurt Arild Larsen And Per Ståle Larsen
Wonderful experience. Amazing crew, perfect boat and delicious fish soup served. We went for a whale watching adventure and the captain found the best spots to observe lots of Orcas around the fjord. This was one of out best trips ever. Totally worth it and recommended.
Took this cruise with my wife and 10 month old daughter. Was a laid back cruise on a nice day with a skipper who provided interesting information about the area and history. Had an opportunity to fish while he cooked a delicious lunch and I caught 14 cod in less than 30 minutes by myself! Within a few seconds of dropping the lure I already had a catch each time. So easy I felt that I was somehow cheating or something....
Dear Super thanks for cruising with us, It was a lovely day and nice to get to know both of you, and the little one, Thanks again, Best Kurt arild
Our guide, Per, was absolutely wonderful on this cruise. We enjoyed every minute and he did his very best to help keep us warm and informed on the sights as well as how the ship operated. The soup he made us was the best fish soup I've had, ever! We enjoyed our sail on the Arctic princess more than we imagined! Thank you, Per, for an unforgettable experience!
Many thanks for sailing with us. And thanks for nice feedback :)) Makes me happy that you like the experience Welcome back Best reg Kurt Arild
Great trip out to the fjords in search of Hvaldimir the beluga. Not only did we have a great time playing with Hvaldimir our captain was super friendly and fun. Boat was really comfortable and we appreciated the climate suits when the wind picked up.
Awesome!!!! Captain Kurt and his brother were excellent. Amazing nature, great history of Tromso and Fjords. Went to island of Sandoya for a hike in mountain, polar plunge, sauna and great lunch. Back on board and off to Skatar lodge.
The Arctic Queen is a beautiful boat. But what's even more stunning is the area! From the boat you'll have an amazing view on Tromsø and it's mountains!
This is a very recommended trip to take if you visit Tromsø. You get to experience the town and the amazing nature from the seaside.
What a trip we had aboard the Artic Queen! We embarked on our cruise on 1 October and were skillfully transported from the harbor in Nordlenagen to Alta harbor. Capt Kurt and his brother and first-mate were gracious hosts and although the seas were choppy, we never felt uneasy due to their excellent seamanship skills. Our trip lasted over 5 hours including a nice hot lunch we enjoyed at our midway point in a protected harbor. Kurt and Pete (sorry if we got the name wrong) regaled us with stories and history of surrounding islands. Thank you both for making our trip a worthwhile and memorable experience.
Dear both of you, Me and my Brother Per Ståle are very happy you choosed us to Bring you to Alta. A little windy, and some waves here and there made this maybe more like explore tour ;) Anyway we headed back same day to Tromsø, and it was same wind, but downwind so we where in Tromsø late evening. Best reg Kurt Arild and Per Ståle.
