Glühwürmchen-Tour in Cherating

Had a wonderful experience with the firefly watching and mangrove discovery in Cherating. Everything was well organized, and the guide was knowledgeable. The fireflies were magical to watch, and the mangrove tour was peaceful and informative. Definitely worth the price and highly enjoyable!

Very few fireflies but sailing in the mangrove is nice. Many canoes at the same time, we even had a boat accident, more fear than harm

Hafiz was an amazing tour guide, knew his stuff and kept everyone on the verge of their chairs. The boat trip was mesmerizing, plenty of fireflies.

My friend made reservations through what app before arrival , ticket price rm45 per person for a 1 hour boat ride along the river to see fire flies ( the fire flies species here were smaller in size compare to kuala Selangor fireflies species is bigger so the lights at Selangor were like Christmas tree lights there whereby here the fireflies blinkering lights smaller but hafiz and his boatmen uses a red light to lure the fire flies come to you

1)There are MANY FireFly tours in Malaysia; Reckon this is the BEST and REAL FireFlies. SOME FireFly tours are FAKE, use LED lights as firefly, as in MUAR River Firefly tour !! 2)The tour guides are very helpful and friendly; a briefing in firefly was given prior the tour, and improve one's knowledge on firefly. 3)The cruise down Cherating river is about 30 minutes. The guide used his special light and managed to induced REAL Firefly to fly to the visitors on the Boat. This is MAGICAL !! 4)MANY Stops on different part of the Cherating river and Guide did his Magical calling for the firefly to fly towards the visitors, Which were REAL CHARM !! 5)Had visited many countries (India. Vietnam. Taiwan....) on firefly tours, this is the BEST, as Guide can Engaged with the firefly !!

highly recommended It is amazing to get so close to these glowing little ones.Some even flew into your palm. They are too tiny to be noted, but they existed.

Phone number is wrong. Pined location is not accurate. Hard to find taxi. Not easy for foreigners. But the firefly activity itself was great.

A little disappointed because in the end there were not many fireflies. The weather was stormy and that may have played a role. We are aware that it is nature and its imponderables. What really ruined the experience was the boat exhaust. We were divided into 6 boats, navigation is done at low speed following each other. We breathed the exhaust fumes for almost an hour. Considering the activity, electric motors would be perfectly suited.

Hafiz is very passionate about fireflies and it shows in the pre-boat talk he gave. The talk was short, entertaining and informative. We didn’t really know what to expect on the boat ride, but when we saw the fireflies in the trees like Christmas lights, we were excited. Then Hafiz did his magic and they flew towards the boat like embers in the night. It was magical! We even manage to have a few land on our hands, clothing and faces. So surreal. I highly recommend this experience when in the area. You shouldn’t miss it! Also don’t put on any insect repellent before the trip, as surprise, surprise, fireflies are insects and you definitely wouldn’t want to repel these fantastic creatures. Note: don’t take any pictures using your phone as it will distract the fireflies and give you or the other passengers temporary night blindness as the surroundings are so dark. Just enjoy the experience.

Its our first time joining fireflies tour. Its a great experience. Entire trip was well planned and conducted by the team. highly recommended
