Einweichen. Glühen. Traum.

Gina stepped in when our tour companies booked with didn’t show up. We were a bit hostile as we waited an hour for our guide. Gina quickly out us at ease with her sweet personality. We had a great time at the hot springs. Toured the ice museum with her and got our wonderful appletinis! Then plenty of time to soak in the hot springs after an amazing dinner. Gina gave us recommendations on the menu so we had the scallops. Although we didn’t see northern lights she explained how she looks for activity and tried hard to find some. We loved her knoweledge for the area and were excited that she was going to be our guide the next day for the North Pole trip.
Gina our tour guide was amazing. She's very informative and helpful throughout the whole tour. Gina Brayden and Chris treated my mom and I with extra care from taking photos to adding some background story or a certain exhibit in the ice museum. She even reserved us seats for dinner and hold us seats inside the ice museum. It was an unforgettable experience , too bad we couldn't see the aurora borealis but we will plan better next time.
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! It truly means the world to us to hear that you, your mom, and your family felt so well cared for throughout your experience. We love being able to add those little personal touches—whether it’s helping with photos, sharing an extra story, finding a special exhibit, or simply making sure you’re comfortable and taken care of.
This tour was amazing. Had such a great time the tour guide Chris was knowledgeable and super friendly. Thank you, Gina and bucket list tours for a wonderful evening the Hot Springs and the ice palace were great. It’s a definite must do tour.
This experience was amazing! They saved the evening for us by picking us when we had been forgotten by another tour comp! Chris was great about getting us there safely and entertaining to boot!
Gina was our tour guide and was incredible! Gina was so knowledgeable about the area and made it so much easier to navigate the new area. We got to go to the chena hot springs resort, and experience the hot springs, ice museum, and dinner. Although we didn't get to see any northern lights on our ride back, Gina had so many great stories about living in the area, and made the trip unforgettable.
Good excursion. Blake was a great guide. Ice Museum and Hot Springs were nice. Unfortunately, sky did not cooperate for Aurora viewing.
We were most excited for this excursion and found it somewhat of a let down. The Ice Museum is much smaller than expected, but it's a neat thing to see. The Hot Springs are ok. The dressing rooms are kind of gross, and you wouldn't want to walk on the floor in your bare feet. Do not leave shoes out in initial room where they have you take them off. Food on site is challenging (very limited cafe and extremely slow restaurant). The write up for this excursion says that you will chase aurora borealis viewing. Note, this "chasing" is essentially the drive back. There was another tour that actually takes people up on the mountain to enhance chances of seeing it. We should have booked that one instead. I gave 3 stars because the guide was very nice.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations, and we’re glad you enjoyed your guide. Chena Hot Springs is a very popular destination, and their staff works incredibly hard. We’re grateful that AK Bucket List Tours is able to secure dinner reservations for our guests to help make the evening run more smoothly. Our tour description also lets guests know that dining is optional and that bringing snacks or choosing a lighter option allows for additional time enjoying the hot springs. We would also like to clarify the Northern Lights portion. As outlined in our tour description, after the hot springs we travel to prime aurora-viewing locations while monitoring conditions throughout the night. Our return drive is intentionally part of that experience, allowing us to stop at multiple darker, lesser-known locations away from other guest so an intimate experience can be enjoyed and no light pollution based on where we find the clearest skies. The mountain snowcat mentioned is a separate, significantly more expensive excursion that takes guests to one fixed location until very late. Our experience is designed differently so we can remain mobile if we can’t see the stars where we are, we can move to where we can, giving our guests multiple opportunities to seek clearer skies and potentially see the aurora. Of course, Mother Nature can never be guaranteed. We appreciate your feedback and will continue doing everything we can to make our guest expectations clear. Thank you for choosing AK Bucket List Tours.
Gina is the sweetest i had a blast! She clearly loves what she’s doing! She’s not pushy at allll, i felt like i was literally hanging out with a friend! Would revommend 100%
Gina was absolutely amazing!! She went out of her way to chase the northern lights. The cloud coverage was very thick and we were not able to see them but it was definitely not for lack of trying on her part. She is a wealth of knowledge and we had an amazing time even if we didn't get to see the northern lights. The hot springs were not crowded and amazingly relaxing. The ice museum and the apple martini in the ice glass were so delicious!! Overall I would definitely do this tour with Gina!
