Als nächstes besuchen Sie Nazare, eine charmante Küstenstadt, die für ihre atemberaubenden Wellen bekannt ist, die die größten jemals gesurften der Welt sind. Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit, das Mittagessen zu genießen und einige traditionelle Portugiesische Gerichte zu genießen. Schließlich werden Sie von dem historischen Dorf Obidos fasziniert sein, das sich innerhalb der Mauern einer Burg befindet. Die Kapelle der Erscheinungen ist eine kleine Kapelle in Fatima, die den Ort markiert, an dem drei Hirtenkinder von Erscheinungen der Heiligen Jungfrau Maria berichteten.
Sie werden anhalten und das Heiligtum von Fatima für ca. 1 Stunde erkunden. Fatima ist heute eines der wichtigsten Heiligtümer des Katholizismus und wird jedes Jahr von 6 Millionen Menschen besucht. Es wird gesagt, dass die Jungfrau Maria drei Kindern - Lucia, Francisco und Jacinta - jeden Monat vom 13. Mai 1917 bis zum 13. Oktober 1917 erschien.
Diese Kirche wurde im 14. Jahrhundert errichtet, als König Ferdinand auf einer Wallfahrt zur Muttergottes von Nazare kam, um an ein altes Wunder zu erinnern, das der Fürsprache der Jungfrau Maria zugeschrieben wird.
Nazare ist eine charmante Fischerstadt mit vielen Orten, um anzuhalten und den Meerblick zu genießen. Praia do Norte hat einige der größten Wellen der Welt. Im Jahr 2011 machte dieser Strand Schlagzeilen, als Garrett McNamara hier eine rekordverdächtige 24-Meter-Welle surfte.
Das Forte de Sao Miguel ist ein Fort aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, das zu einem Leuchtturm umgebaut wurde. Es bietet einen spektakulären Blick auf das Meer und beherbergt das Nazare Canyon Interpretive Center.
Obidos ist eine mittelalterliche Stadt, die 1148 von den Mauren erobert wurde. Seitdem ist es eine ummauerte Stadt mit Kopfsteinpflasterstraßen und weiß getünchten Häusern, die mit Blumen geschmückt sind. Gegründet auf einem Hügel mit Blick auf das Meer, verschlammte die Bucht allmählich und seit dem 15. Jahrhundert ist Obidos eine Binnenstadt. Obidos ist jedoch nicht nur für seine mittelalterliche Architektur bekannt, sondern auch für seine lebendigen Feste, Buchhandlungen, kleinen Museen und lokalen Köstlichkeiten wie Schokolade und Ginjinha (ein Kirschlikör, eine Portion pro Person ist im Preis inbegriffen). In den letzten Jahren hat sich Obidos als literarisches Zentrum neu erfunden.

This tour’s guide was exceptional. Her name was Kat or Katerina! Her level of knowledge was steeped with childhood memories! It’s was the best of the best!
The tour was good and the tour guide was knowledgeable. I felt like the time at Fatima was too short, but I was definitely most interested in Fatima over the other two locations. They offered confessions, but it took a very long time to find an English speaking priest, which ended up taking up most of my time there - waiting. I felt guilty going, and leaving before they could find someone, so I felt like I missed a lot of the Fatima experience. If I go again, I will only go with others who are interested in Fatima mostly - not other locations. If you are going to Nazare, based on the photos advertising the tour showing the big waves, it isn't happening in June/July. Found out a little too late that they are only visible/impressive November through February. There were literally no waves to be seen. Food was good. The statue of Mary breastfeeding is shown as a replica where it was found and you have to pay to see the real one in the church. Obidos was nice - a good break for the ride back. I wouldn't say it was a highlight or that there was anything very special about it. Walking along the ramparts was too dangerous, so we had a drink in a pub. Our guide was very helpful - especially recommending places for the rest of our stay in Lisbon. They were on time and easy to find for the pick-up point. They picked up and dropped off in front of your hotel if that was an option (some hotels aren't located with drop-off/pick up points so there was a short walk)
This was an exceptional experience in every way: Yes, the sites are beautiful and well worth visiting (we've all seen the pictures). But the tour itself is well organized and conducted. The small van is comfortable, air-conditioned, and makes it easy to interact with your fellow travelers. The transitions are planned well - the longest leg of the trip was about 1.5 hours. There is sufficient time at each site to give you a good overview of the highlights (so you can return and explore on your own later if you wish). But for me, the best part of this trip was our tour guide, Catarina. She was very knowledgeable, skilled, professional, yet engaging, funny, personable, and kind. Thank you, dear Cat, and I look forward to another tour with Lisbon Riders the next time I'm in Lisbon.

Carolina, our guide, was fantastic! There were 4 of us in our group (plus 3 others) and she went out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable, explaining things in detail, making conversation with all participants in the tour to get to know people. This also helped the rest of the participants to also know a little bit about each other. The tour is highly recommended!

Our guide, Liliana arrived early to pick us up. She introduce herself and we got underway on our journey. Liliana was extremely knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. She was extremely knowledgeable about the regions and towns that we visited. She made sure that we had plenty of time to see all attractions and had plenty of time to ask questions. We asked her to recommend a restaurant for us to have lunch in Nazaré and she didn’t disappoint. Fantastic lunch. She took the time to make sure we (and especially our two young grand daughter) could meet one of the Nazarenas (women residents of Nazaré) so they could show and explain why they traditionally wear 7 skirts). Fantastic trip. Would engage this firm again on my next return to Portugal!! Thank you Nuno and Liliana for making our vacation supper special an one that my grand daughters will never forget!!
